"HITnRUN Phase Two" is the thirty-ninth studio album by Prince! Produced, arranged, composed & performed by Prince & The New Power Generation, the companion album to 'HITnRUN Phase One' was originally released exclusively on the Tidal streaming service in December, but since that, physical copies were only available to fans that attended dates on the recent 'Piano & A Microphone' tour. "HITnRUN Phase One" seemed to focus on where Prince wanted to go - EDM-inflected bangers, poppy dance cuts - but "Phase Two", with its brassy, buoyant arrangements and cheeky lyrics, embodies the artist in his natural state as a soul-funk master. It adds up to his most consistently engaging album in years, blending in echoes of the ghosts of Prince past (à la "Sexy MF" and "Come") while still sounding refreshingly modern. The Freddie Gray tribute "Baltimore" is among his catchiest latter-day singles, and he never loses sight of hooks on "Stare," "Black Muse," and "Screwdriver." Better yet, he seems like he's having fun: On "Look at Me, Look at U," Prince jokes that "even Ray Charles can see" the chemistry he has with a woman ("Stevie Wonder can too"), and deep into the elastic "Stare," he says, "Can I get a kiss?" before playing his iconic guitar scratch from "Kiss." Elsewhere, he goes all-the-way horndog. "Whenever you need someone to take a shower with, call me up," he proposes on "Xtraloveable." The chorus to the James Brown-ish "2 Y 2 D" goes, "She's old enough to do you/But too young to dare." Hey, he told us years ago that he had a dirty mind. But it never gets in the way of his musicianship; Prince's crisp, bluesy guitar solos shine throughout (see "Baltimore" and "Revelation"). As eclectic as he can be, Phase Two is what he does best". - Album review Rolling Stone Magazine, Jan 28, 2016.

PrinceofSoulSilkySmooth. Uplifting end to a great career.
It is official (at least for me on a personal level) that HitnRun is made complete with this the 2nd phase.........this is the funky sister to Phase 1 - the groovy movie, the hip tastic lovin charmin Prince entangling his fans with jazzy sexy soulful funk for 10 tracks in a row - until the mellow time out that is Revelation........Im not onto the last track yet so I cant describe that last track for you yet..........This record puts Phase 1 under the Funk DanceFloor Rock feel (call it Ying if you like) - so I guess this 2nd side to the album is the Princeof SoulintheGroove (call it Yang if it please you)....All you need do is play both wonderful records in order and you will get my drift.........Heavy starter......Groovy Soul Jammin desert.........I'd like to agree with an earlier viewer - Phase two is like wearing a piece of silk in comparison to Phase 1 - it glides by wonderfully well and is the much needed genius smooth after the excellently playful cheeky rough. He really hit on a great flow on this album. The irony being some of the lyrics are very serious sounding (not the least Baltimore....love the drum sequence at the end....this track is a strange opener that puts you off center slightly...you emphathise with the lyrics whilst finding yourself lightly tapping your fingers to the groove....)Ah here is the last tune....Big City,.....happy, uplifting.....jiving groove........I think this album captures Princes fluffy playful side as well as ever before (Im thinking back to Rasberry Beret right now as PRince sings 'TOnights the night'......)....an excellent send off.Phase 1 and 2 are not just a great way to remember Prince by, they also make for a SERIOUSLY ESSENTIAL listen for any music fan!Ah the sound of a boogie...Big City!........such a great talent thank you Prince for the music.

Genius
This is a world full of story and colour. Art Official Age is a masterpiece, and ‘U Know’ is the a pure example of what makes Prince the greatest. But so is ‘stare’ which is a pure lesson on songwriting, as are ‘Baltimore’ ‘rock n roll loveaffair,’ ‘xtralovable.’ ‘Groovy potential’ is beautiful. For some reason this album, ‘Hit n Run phase two’ feels like Prince has become his own Frank Sinatra to me…? world that you step into If this was Prince returning to a more strict sound, as he consciously decided to do with sign o the times, then what he would have made next would have been in this w

It was a step away from the good old Prince stuff we all grew up with and ...
HITNRUN Phase One was clearly experimental, and was certainly targeted more at the modern music charts. It was a step away from the good old Prince stuff we all grew up with and so dearly love, but some of the songs on that are still good to listen to, if you just put them in the context of the modern market (though some songs left a little to be desired I admit), I certainly wouldn't say it was a bad album, though I'm not going to credit is as a masterpiece.HITNRUN Phase Two... just arrived through my door and playing as we speak. I know people have complained that some of Princes previous releases were supposed to be a step back to the classic Prince sound, but didn't hit the mark (again some good tracks, but only a few that were memorable)... but this... well, this has got some of that early funky sound to it, and as a first listen... Loving it!!! What an album to leave us with so close to his death. No doubt the vault has got some surprises for our future, but this is certainly one he was intending to release, and he's done himself proud with it.

HIT AFTER HIT AFTER MORE HITS!!!!
After his last two albums being Co-Produced by Joshua Welton, Prince is in return to form by taking back full production duties with his swan song... and oh what an album this is. A welcome surprise after not expecting much after Phase One. I'm a massive Prince fan and I feel that his last few albums have been "hit and miss" but I can honestly say that it was a breath of fresh air to listen to a Prince album from start to finish without skipping past a track. For me this is his most complete effort since 1995's Gold Experience album. (Rainbow Children was a great album too but more of a concept album)Where Phase One was more EDM/New age., and in my opinion, mediocre...this is a return to the Prince I grew up with and loved... pure organic funk.Granted, it contains tracks he released as singles from the past 4 years, but some of these have been revamped.... listen to the horns on Rock N Roll Love Affair compared to the single...... taking a good track and making it great.. If I have one slight gripe I would have probably replaced Screwdriver with a track like F.U.N.K.R.I.P. You musical genius... I feel honoured and blessed to have seen you perform live and to have lived through your musical career.

Like him or not
Like him or not, doesn't really come into it if you truly appreciated talent! With his passing the world has lost yet another natural, pure talent. He had music pumping through his veins! Quite how one individual can be blessed with so much talent I will never understand.I lost count of how many instruments he could play, at the last count it was something like 22. Add to this the song writing, singing, recording, engineering and production, choreography etc etc! Then you start to get a better idea of the shear talent we have lost.We all tend to judge a book by its cover, yet should learn to try and ignore the cover and check out the contents first. For my personal taste, I do prefer the HitnRun Phase One album (the one before this one), but I had no hesitation in buying both.Although perhaps I shouldn't, I want to also recommend you search for a copy of Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (get the DVD version if you can), this has to be one of the coolest Prince concerts! Hope you enjoy it too.

Look at Me, Look at U:Dieser Track hat eine sanftere, entspanntere Stimmung. When She Comes:Diese langsamere, sinnliche Ballade zeigt Prince's sanftere Seite.

No me gustó el hit and run vol 1.

Prince's Last, Miss Him Terribly
So happy I bought this, and way before it was awarded a Grammy! Although, I don't put much stock in Grammys.I haven't opened it yet, but I know I am in for a treat. You really can never go wrong with a Prince album, God rest his soul. There will never be anyone like him again, and we were blessed to have him for as long as we did. Still wish he were here, though.
