A Fantastic and Hilarious Dinner Party Game!
We hosted a dinner party recently and decided to mix things up by trying the Escape Room In An Envelope, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the evening! The game, The Deceit, is a fun and interactive mystery where you help a betrayed TV chef uncover her secrets. The puzzles were clever and engaging, but the real fun came from the hilarious moments as we worked together. There was one puzzle where we all spent a solid 15 minutes arguing over whether a clue referred to a "bottle" or a "jar." Someone swore it was a jar, another person was adamant it was a bottle... in the end, it turned out to be neither, and we all just burst out laughing at how far off we were. The fact that we could easily access hints online when we got stuck made sure we didn’t get too frustrated (though our egos were definitely bruised a bit). The letter from Abigail, the chef, guided us through the game perfectly, and the online vault was a great twist. As we solved the puzzles, the excitement really built, and we felt like a real team working to crack the code. It was a great balance of challenge and fun.Highly recommend this game if you’re looking for something unique for your next dinner party or game night. It was the perfect way to kick off the evening, and I’m still laughing about our ridiculous "jar vs bottle" debate! Worth every penny!

Fun family party game
This brand has a fantastic family or friends party games and this one doesn’t disappoint. I’ve tried lots of them, and they’re all great. It definitely takes a lot of concentration, so it might not be for everyone, but it’s perfect for people who enjoy escape room or puzzle-type games.

Great after dinner fun!
I bought this to play as an 'after dinner' game with a group of friends. I have played of games like this before but this one had a feature I really liked: you get two copies of all the materials. Really useful if you're playing with a larger group. It also means you can replay the game if you only use one set of the materials. It always bothers me that some games like this can be quite expensive but you often have to destroy materials to solve the puzzles, rendering the game defunct at the end, so I was pleased about that. I also liked that you had to log onto a website to check if you had found the correct solution, although the website was almost prohibitively slow when we played (that may have been down to our network though!)I found it a bit trickier than some games to get started. There wasn't much in the way of instructions, so you really were left to solve the mystery on your own/as a group. Probably not ideal for a first timer but great for anyone wanting to challenge themselves a bit.We solved the puzzles and had a great time doing it, so I would definitely try another game from this series!

Loved it, great fun
Great fun, for us it was the perfect difficulty, we have done this and the scandal, this was the preferred one (although the scandal was good!).Took us about 2 hours with no cheating by looking up anything.Lots of people in here saying they were missing a vital part from the box, Im not sure that is true they probably just didn't work a key one out.Really enjoyable, would recommend.

Misleading evidence
We've done quite a few of these but this was by far the most misleading. After an hour we reluctantly went to the clues and we'd got only 2 right. The clue for the coasters said they had numbers on them but we are yet to find any. Very disappointing.

Too hard for us
I loved the idea, and it was a great way to spend time with the family on boxing day. BUT it was hard, our brains really found it hard to work out the clues. Quality was really good of what was in there. But the real killer was that one of the clues was missing. Ruined it for us. We had to use the hints/answers to complete it in the end. Then AFTER we had done this I went online to complain and was given a pdf version of the clue but it was too late to use.We didnt open the envelope until we played it, but I would recommend one person checks it in advance if you get this just in case.No response from feedback sent directly to the company but it has only been a week over the xmas period so hopefuly a response will be soon.
