This egg cracker works. I tried several others ... all were duds. I found it works best if the egg is sitting in something ... I used an empty egg carton for best result. When I held the egg in my hand it took more hits before the egg cracked, probably due to my hand acting as a damper for the vibrations or because it was awkward to lift the weight.

I was hoping that will break the egg, but not so. It is not as effective in spite of extra bang and pressure.Revision: In an egg cup, the egg breaks, just hold the breaker close and tight!

It’s possible under different conditions that it may work better, but I keep my eggs in the refrigerator and therefore they are cold. The break is a little ragged not nearly as clean cut as the picture shows.Still, some small slippers of Shell fall into pan or bowl and still need to be fished out, at least when the eggs are cold.
