Surprisingly good fit and quality.
***EDIT*** Used for 4 hours recently in constant light to medium downpour and kept me dry and warm, I was careful not to disturb the rain on the garment as it was forming droplets and didnt want to try bridging the surface, but it did occassionally and there was no noticeable ingress. Impressed....yet to see what a torrential downpour will result in. Bought an XXL but received an XL so was worried it might be too tight, as I am 48inch chest but quite broad shoulders and sleeve lengths are always shortish, but worries are over, its a good fit everywhere. Its very warm inside and thinly lined which should keep the moisture down some but its the build quality which I am happy with, seams and hems are all securely stitched and all pockets are zipped. Their lining is thin so dont be putting heavy objects in them, and the arm pockets are a little small for general use but I'm using it for orienteering so wont want extra weight anyway and the jacket is light which helps too. The hood design is clever, all round ability to adjust a tighter fit against the elements but haven't had a chance to test for weatherproofing yet, its quite spacious and allows me to wear a quite large woolly balaclava inside as well which is a plus. The length is good, it reaches well down past the small of the back and has a cord to tighten it up. Overall, I'm pleased, but would have preferred a couple of arm pockets less and a large, decent inside pocket instead, somewhere to keep my mobile phone and glasses away from the elements. The hand pockets are prone to bumping against things in normal movement, esp outside in a forest, but there is enough room to wear a bumbag underneath so its no prob, just a slight nuisance.

(It's kind of like the big pocket you get on some hoodies that ...
This is a jacket which is full of surprises. Every time I put this on I seem to find a new pocket. There are: - Two big pockets on the main body on the front - A large pocket on the back which has two zips, one on each side. (It's kind of like the big pocket you get on some hoodies that goes all the way through, except with zips on each side and it's on the back). - One small pocket on EACH bicep which also have loop velcro (the soft bit) for attaching patches. - One small pocket on the left forearm (nothing on the right) - The bicep pockets and two main body pockets have a little rubber section with a small hole leading to the inside of the jacket, presumably to run headphones or a radio cable through. The pockets on the arms are a little bit on the small side. I have reasonably big hands and I can't actually get my hands inside them which isn't super. I'm not 100% sure why they are so small as it's certainly not a space issue as there is plenty of room on the pocket for the zip to have been bigger, more of a weird design choice I think. The cuffs both have a velcro adjustment so you can tighten them down. One little feature that isn't listed in the item description is that there is a zipper under each armpit which I'm assuming is designed to work as ventilation if it gets too hot. There are two elastic adjustments to tighten it around you waist which are quite nice if a little awkward to use because of the way they've been implemented. The one negative is that the elastic does seem to want to drop down and hang out of the bottom. You can just about tuck it away if you're bothered. The hood has an option to roll it up and velcro it in place so that it basically becomes a big thick collar. (That's what the weird square by the label at the back of the neck is for that you can see in the pictures). The hood itself is very nice. It has a little 'peak' which looks nice and stylish. The size is adjustable by elastic. It's a bit of a weird system to be honest and I'm not sure why it's been done this way. The elastic runs all the way around the hood, down the jacket and down into the two main pockets on the front. If you put your hand in, you can feel there's a little plastic stop attached to the end of the elastic cord ending in the pocket. The actual adjustment for the hood is up around the collar area on the outside of the jacket (visible in the pictures). It's a bit tricky to adjust to be honest, especially as you have to do it on both sides. Just a bit strange. I might be missing something but it doesn't seem particularly intuitive to use and is just unnecessarily fiddly. Also, (and the main reason that I've taken off a star) the elastic on one side of my hood has a knot tied in it which makes it even harder to adjust. I contemplated removing the elastic and undoing it, but I think because of the way it has been attached with the plastic stops etc, I would never be able to put it back together, so now I have to live with a weird knot. Probably a manufacturing error I'm guessing as it's just on one side. The jacket is very warm and has a fleecy material inside and seems very waterproof on the outside. Overall, I'm actually very happy with this. You can tell it's a high quality product and I think it will be long lasting. Weird knots and illogical hood adjustments aside, I'd happily buy this again. Perfect for what I wanted.

It's a decent budget jacket with some shortcomings in design, materials and construction.
This is a large fitting windproof jacket with a spacious hood. It had loads of pockets and a military feel. It looks functional and seems to be warm with a shiny hard shell and soft fleece inside. It's obviously cheap in quality which is apparent when you turn it inside out and have a look at the zips and the stitching. There are some elastics which take bizarre routes through the jacket and I'm worried they will snag on things. The zips and the zip stitching looks cheap. The armpit vents don't close fully, and so on very cold, windy days, the wind will get right into those holes. The roll up hood holder is cheap looking, and seems to be an iterative after thought rather than designed in at the start. So, for me, this is a jacket I hope to use camping and doing other outdoor activities, but it's too bulky and has some serious shortcomings in design, materials and construction which would put it into a top quality bracket. It is at least £20 cheaper than comparable windproof jackets by major manufacturers, so that's what you get.

Quality garment, well made, good value for money.
I bought this jacket for work. I am a professional dog handler. The garment is as described. I wanted a durable lightweight waterproof and windproof jacket to wear in all weathers and this fits the bill. Although it is windproof, this jacket on its own will not keep you warm in very cold weather. There is a light fleece like lining inside, but you would need to wear a fleece or a jumper underneath in cold weather. There are a number of good features. The hood is very good,it has a small and peak and hangs over the face keeping you dry. The drawstrings can even be pulled from inside the large front pockets. These pockets are particularly good as you can put large items such as dog balls in them which are easily accessible. I have often found this a problem in other jackets. inside the front pockets is a security loop for attaching snap hooks for keys etc. zip pockets on sleeves for small items also very good, as well as large double access pocket at rear. Zip openings under arms to allow air to circulate if you get too warm. A number of colleagues have noticed this jacket and will be placing orders. The only feature which I think could possibly be improved would be the roll away hood design? Otherwise great. Definitely recommended.

Windproof and Waterproof - Check
I ordered this product as a result of losing my old softshell jacket made by a familiar name. Most reviews advised that this product was windproof, waterproof and generally warm to wear. I can clarify that the products windproof feature is absolutely amazing. It's as good as my Ski coat. It stops any breeze from getting past the outer shell. I have only been caught in showers and light downpours but it has kept me perfectly dry. The inside has a thin fleece material which keeps me surprisingly warm. I think this is a combination of the fact that no wind will ever get past the outer shell of the coat and so the fleece just keeps you warm. I think the garment looks smart, it's well made and the hood is peaked which makes it very useful. If there's one thing I don't like about the coat is the pocket situation. There are lots of pockets, which is great, but the main pockets ride up the front of the coat, not at the sides which means that I often go to put my hands in my pockets, only to realise that there aren't any pockets to put my hands. There's also a pocket on the back of the coat which seems incredibly pointless. I can't really think of any reason behind why this pocket exists, but it does. Other than that though it's a great product. It's light, the UK size is perfect, it's weatherproof, it looks good, it's easy to compact it to fit in to a rucksack. Perfect for walks, hikes and colder temperatures.

Pretty good
It’s a cheaply made softshell. Now that’s not a bad thing, clearly if you are going anywhere serious you won’t be looking at this, but for out & about in town or strolling around fields, woods, etc, in inclement weather it’s more than good enough. It’s shower proof, not waterproof but the rain has to be heavy & on for a while to get through. So for price it matches expectations. The stitching is adequate & the zips are good enough, but remember this isn’t for high level winter activities. It has plenty of pockets, pit zips and a hood. Whilst there is better out there, you have to pay considerably more to see better quality. I’d recommend it, but clearly for low level stuff near the car or house, if you are going to attempt that & there’s any risk of anything serious, then pay much more for some decent kit. A fair balance of quality & utility for the price.
