I took the risk that this would enable an old Dell Inspiron 1545 that had lost support for it's network card when I attempted an untested upgrade to Windows 10.Everything worked fine.The device worked straight from the packet, which was easy to open and didn't require the use of an inappropriate knife and/or the loss of appendages. I installed the provided drivers (on disc) anyway just to have a back up on the laptop.The speed of data transfer is much less that a wired connection, which might be a concern for some, but for me it is an acceptable compromise given the low cost of the dongle. Range is fine for me, at 25m indoors I experienced no issues.As a bonus, I found that the dongle could be used to update the software on my aging Onkyo 7.2 AV Amplifier which isn't furnished with a wireless connection.Highly Recommended.

Arrived promptly, well-wrapped, plastic packaging easy to remove.Connection on an old Toshiba Satellite A200 was straightforward: the dongle was recognised immediately, was made available for me to create a connection to the router, and connected fine (my operating system is Linux Mint 16 Xfce).But then the connection was dropped every few minutes so I had to manually reconnect each time.To cut a long story short, I resolved this by changing my Virgin Media router's wireless mode from the default 54Mbps to 144Mbps. Fortunately the various other computers, phones, tablets etc in the house appear to connect to the router as well as before.

Nothing much to say about this little device. It does the job nicely, easy to work with: plug it in, if need be use the drivers on the disk and boom here you go. I used it on Windows 7, 8, 10 and worked in each cases. Sometimes I had to put the disk and some other times not, it looks a bit random but I guess it depends on what drivers are already on the computer.Fast enough for web browsing and downloading.

It works well, at least to start with. I got it because my laptop has a lot of trouble connecting with the wireless router in our house from the room I use it in. This fixed that and worked well to start with. The thing is I sometimes have trouble staying connected to the internet now and I am not sure if this is down to the dongle or something else. I tend to think it may be the former because we use Virgin and they have a very good rep. Sorry I can't give a definitive review one way or the other, but I hope this is helpful all the same.

Product very easy to install, with software on mini-CD. It quickly found the WiFi source. My computer uses a wire-connection by default, so I have to tell it to use the WiFi instead; no problem.

Did not work in my new to me second hand Windows 98 laptop bought just for playing old games. Some games you have to have internet for when you initially load the game.The laptop in question can connect with internet but with cable. I have seen the same one on You tube and it does have LAN socket

Complete waste off my money! I bought as, for some reason, I was getting a message advising me that my WiFi hardware had gone and saw this USB recommended. It comes with a driver disc which is too small for my Mac and I can't get a driver online because I can't get online (the whole purpose of me buying this device!)

As stated on the listing that I purchased this from, it says that it is compatible with Windows 98, it is not. It's driver setup program prompts me that setup expects a newer version of Windows. I will keep this network adapter for other machines but it's quite a big let down.
