Q: My attic is very hot in Summer. Can i put this up like drywall from rafter to rafter or do i need to insulate first and then lay across?

That’s exactly correct if you put it from rafter to rafter and staple in place, it will work as a radiant barrier and your attic will be within 5 to 10° of ambient temperature.

No ! It's laminated foam.. it's flexible.. really works great keeping the heat out
