This review is not in any way paid, sponsored or influenced. I’m simply helping others with my feedback on the Life-Bulb. Needed a replacement light for my old 12v Pentair wet niche fixture. I live in Florida and have a 14’ x 24’ in-ground pool. Did my research and landed on Life-Bulb. I’ve had this installed for a few weeks now and am very impressed by the quality, functionality and price, compared to similar lights. The light works flawlessly over WiFi and is very responsive. That’s mostly due to the long moulded cable and the included wireless controller which is installed by my pool equipment about 25’ away from the light. Once the wireless controller is connected to your home router, it’s a snap to control with the Mobil app. Or just use the remote control if you prefer. The light, remote and mobile app work very well together and are feature rich. Color presets and many more variations in between those to choose from. Tons of modes, create your own scenes, integrates with other third party automation apps and the light will sync with music via the mobile app. I’ve tried it all and had zero issues. Very bright light as you can see from my pics. I really couldn’t find a better light for the price. It’s very affordable for what you’re getting. The included Installation instructions are very good. Will this light withstand the rest of time? Wait to see about that. Don’t hesitate to give it a try if you like this light for your pool. As with all electronic equipment, take great care while installing it and follow the manufacturers instructions. You won’t be disappointed.

We have a vintage concrete pool and the original light finally quit this year. We were having the pool painted and I figured that this would be a good time to check the light. It was completely defunct. I did not want a 120 volt light in the pool any longer and searched for low voltage led lights and found the Life-Bulb Smart Pool LED light. From start to finish, this is one fine piece of engineering. Other than my own errors, I had no trouble installing the light, doing the wiring or setting up the App that you can use to control the light itself. Based on my experience, I do have a bit of advice: When putting on the silicone gasket I found that using electrical tape to secure the gasket to the chrome outer frame of the light saved me a lot of time — After you put on the gasket, you still need to mount the light assembly to the bracket and the gasket may well pop off if it’s not secured. When mounting the light itself, you need to put the light assembly on the hinge at the bottom of the bracket before you mount the bracket in the pool light niche. Then the light assembly can be hinged out while you secure the top of the bracket to the pool light niche. I didn’t do it this way at first! The light bracket has an adjustable plate that’s held fast by two screws. Loosen these to ensure that the bottom of the bracket reaches the bottom of the niche when the top hole of the bracket is lined up with the screw hole in the niche. I don’t know if this is necessary, but I did put a bead of caulk around the outside of the gasket after the light was in place. I also caulked the conduit that runs from the niche to the transformer — I don’t know if this was really needed, but it can’t hurt. The wiring was easy — the low voltage wire is color coded to match the low voltage wiring of the transformer. The proper wire nuts are included — Thanks! I installed the Life-Bulb App on my iPhone and had no trouble pairing the light with my phone’s bluetooth. Once you pair, you can then set up the WiFi connection as well. The app is very intuitive and it’s fun to try out different color schemes. Highly recommend!

I ordered 2 Life-bulb nicheless pool lights for our pool. They were both easy to install using the manufacturer’s instructions. The lights replaced Pentair Aqualumin II/III nicheless pool lights. I was able to reuse bolts from the Pentair lights as the holes lined up perfectly to the provided bracket.. I powered up the first light and was immediately able to control it with the provided remote control. I then followed the manufacturer’s instructions to pair it to the app and get it on our WiFi. This worked well and can be controlled from inside the house. It is fun to adjust the lighting using the app suggested colors and color sequences. I then proceeded to install the second light as easily as the first. When it came to pairing, I followed the manufacturer’s hints and disconnected the first light and then paired the second light. I then reconnected power to the first light and they both work independently and also can be grouped. I used flexible conduit to run the wiring to the junction boxes. I also made sure to caulk the controller boxes so they can withstand the weather. I also filled the in the pool conduit hole with butyl tape/putty to minimize water leakage (YouTube video on this was very informative). I have the lights automatically turn themselves off every night since they automatically turn on when power returns after a power failure. I also plan to flip the circuit breaker on them during the winter months. It is a well made product and hope it will last for years.

Great product, was easy for me to replace the old one. I struggled with the electrical because I didn’t read the instructions properly about the transformer … but eventually I did manage to complete the install without an electrician. Connectivity works great and easy. Remote feels extremely cheap and does not have a wall holder, making it easy to misplace and lose.
