Dyson Airstrait™ Straightener

Only Hair Tool You’ll Need
If you typically straighten your hair, this tool is a game changer. For reference, I have long, curly hair that is thick and fine. I normally let my hair air dry overnight and use a flat iron in the morning to straighten. It takes so much time, I usually hate hair day. With this tool, I was able to go from wet hair to completely dry and straight in 30 minutes. It is absolutely amazing! Using a traditional hair dryer and straighter, it normally takes me at minimum 1 hour, to do that all at one time. It’s important to read the directions as they provide styling tips and give more detail on all the functions. More than enough power and heat to get the job done. Left my hair feeling so soft and shiny, no damage. So excited to keep using this tool as hair day just got easier and way more fun!I have used the Shark Flex Style to try and straighten my hair and the Dyson is much better. It is definitely lighter to hold and took less passes on my hair to get it straight and dry from wet. The Dyson only took 2 passes per section of hair where the Shark Flex Style took 4-5 passes. Also, the sound pitch and noise level on the Dyson seems quieter than the Shark Flex Style, as it has a weird high pitch sound when compared to the Dyson. The auto sensing on the Dyson is a very nice feature as well that the Shark Flex Style lacks. All in all, if straightening is your go to style, this tool is worth every penny!

Super fast and effective, but wish it could shape the ends
I’ve been using this straightener for a few months and I love how quickly it smooths and straightens my hair. It definitely saves time and leaves my hair sleek without the need for high heat, which is amazing. The only thing I wish it had is the ability to shape the ends of my hair. It leaves them straight down, a bit too flat, and I’d love an option to curve them inward for a more polished finish.Still, it’s a powerful tool and I’d absolutely recommend it for quick, effective straightening — especially for anyone who wants to minimize heat damage.

AMAZING
TL:DR - my wavy/curly hair typically takes 45 min - 1 hour to straighten. I used the air straight and it took 17 and a half minutes to go from wet hair to dry and straight. It also worked on dry waves/curls to dry straight.Easy to use. Highly recommend.I honestly was a little skeptical about this when I first decided to try it. I have wavy/curly hair and it takes FOREVER to straighten it.Blow drying takes a long time for me, and I honestly lack the brush/hand/eye coordination to do a great job. So basically I have to dry my hair and then go over it with a flat iron.I have tried multiple tools that are blow dry brushes to try to get my hair from wet to dry/straight and most of them do nothing but create frizz. Even after finding one that semi-worked, I still had to spend time going over my hair with a flat iron to get it straight and not frizzy. This whole process would typically take me a minimum of 45 min, but usually closer to an hour.I had read reviews about the Dyson air straight greatly reducing that time and it being super easy to use. I decided to try it and assumed that even if it did get my hair close to straight, I would still need to go over it with a flat iron. I was hoping this would just drastically cut down the overall time it took. The first time I tried it my hair was dry and curly. I had some free time and decided to see how the air straight would do in this capacity. I figured, since it was using air, it wouldn’t be the best at going from dry-curly to dry- straight. I was wrong. Within what seemed to be about 15 minutes my hair was straight!! I even quickly “set” it with the cool air setting. I was honestly astonished at how well this machine worked!!Then it was time for the real test. Would it be able to take my wet, out the shower hair, and straighten it quickly? I wasn’t sure. I watched the video in the Dyson app when I first opened it (I think it’s about 2 min long, nothing crazy) which explained how to use the tool to dry the roots before you start straightening. I decided to use the stopwatch function on my phone to see how long it actually took me to do my hair. I hit start on the timer and started straightening with the air straight. Most sections of my hair were dry and straight with ONE pass of the machine. This was honestly amazing because using a flat iron typically takes several. Some areas needed two passes, but this was still so much better and quicker than anything else I’ve used. Plus it was my first time doing it so I’m sure there is a learning curve. When my hair looked done I went over it with the cool setting to “set” the style and hit stop on my phone. It took me 17 min and 29 seconds to go from wet waves/curls to dry straight hair.I am honestly amazed and will never be able to straighten my hair any other way.

My hair looks better, in less time thanks to this sanity saver!
Just adding one more review to pile on the praise for Dyson for creating this game-changing miracle device! Honestly, I'm surprised a device like this exists in my lifetime. Like many other reviewers, I used to use both a hair dryer and a flat iron after every wash to dry & straighten and this process took at least 30-35 minutes. The Dyson cuts my time and effort in half and I now only need 12-15 minutes to achieve the same look! In fact, my hair actually looks better after using the Dyson, as it does not compress the hair follicle quite as much as a flat iron and thus helps me retain some volume. I was concerned about how my roots would look but the option to lock the AirStraight in a closed position and essentially turn it into a stick dryer is incredible. I also love the option to choose Hot or Cold air and the setting for both Wet and Dry hair. As usual, Dyson's thoughtful design speaks to how this company covers all angles from all angles. I purchased this for the incredible sale price of $390 and it was worth every penny!
