I normally would buy the popular brand (HC) but they have gotten so expensive so I thought I would give these a try. I am so impressed! The drill, tap, thread inserts and tools worked very well. I would say they are the same quality as the HC brand but at 1/3 the cost. I used them to repair stripped mounting holes on a cast iron brake caliper frame. I will now buy a big set of various sizes from Orion.

The product was exactly what I order. I received it on time and now I'm hoping I can put it to use in the near future.If you stripout threads, this product will work great.

This is my first time using a thread repair coil. I repaired a damaged M10x1.5 steel threaded through-hole used for the engine mount in my car and torqued the bolt to 29 ft-lbs + 90 degrees without a problem.I used Tap Magic oil while drilling and tapping the hole. If the tap binds up turn it backwards until it unbinds (may take a full turn) and then forwards. The tap is not bottoming so if you are repairing a blind hole you'll need to make sure the tap will cut far enough that you'll be able to insert the coil in a fully cut section of threads.The coil felt loose when I installed it. There was no friction so I threaded it all the way through until it came out the bottom, added loctite, installed it again and waited a day for the cure. I have read that name brand Helicoils are supposed to have some friction when installing them so that they will stay put. Since I have never used any name brand coils I'm not sure how they actually compare.

It has everything; tap, drill, installation tool, tang remover - plenty of inserts. Sturdy box, too. Great value.

This is a great kit for the money. Drill and tap are good quality. Insert went in easily and provided a tight fit to new fastener. Made for a easy repair on my engine block (for water pump mounting bolt)

Love these, pulled the threads on my valve cover over the spark plug tube seals (motor has 210,000 miles on it, nothing was over torqued during MY ownership) and this was the perfect fix. Drill bit cuts well and is still sharp after several uses, tap works and doesn't catch or seize;The only gripes I have are the installation tools- the forked one that's meant to hold onto the coil bent on the first install and I had to unbend it to use it again, and the punch either doesn't sit right to remove the tail from the coil, or the coil itself is too damn tough. Had to reach in there with a tiny pair of hemostat pliers and snap the sucker off myself with about 2/3 of them.EDIT- their customer service is wonderful to the point where I don't so much care that the one tool didn't work quite as well as I expected. They made it right, and that's honestly all I wanted.

Helicoils are solid and the tools are great, however every time I open the case a few pieces fall out of their spots and get mixed up.
