Whole Brain Teaching for Challenging Kids: 2nd Edition: (and the rest of your class, too!)

I've gradually included WBT strategies in my third-grade classroom for several years. Each year gets better and better. My relationships with students deepen with each new class I teach, thanks to Chris Biffle and the WBT team. (Many of whom were awarded Teacher of the Year in their schools.) This new 2nd edition is even better than the first. There are significant improvements to help us increase student engagement, critical thinking, and relationships. The model is to create a LIVING video game in our classrooms using brain-friendly games and motivational strategies, giving us dopamine dollops! My favorite tool is using direct instruction in a new way with the Magic Circle. My students are staying engaged and learning more! This edition has huge upgrades and helpful ideas. It is easier to use because of the six learning modules. It's easy to find what you're looking for. I've read my edition cover to cover. My incoming third graders need not wear socks this year because WBT will blow them off!

It has transformed my teaching and I'm going on year 28 and feel I can do many more because of these methods. My favorite thing about the program is the continuous language development children get through continuous talk and conversation amongst themselves.

I came to Whole Brain Teaching during the pandemic as a way of making the circumstances not so "Sit in your seat and don't get too close to each other!" and more fun and exciting. Ever since I've been hooked. This book explains it all and in such simple, get ready to do it now terms. If you are beating your head against the same old wall and feel like behaviors in your class will never get better, get this book and implement it now! As an aside, the author, Chris Biffle, gives what seems like every moment of his life to bettering the world of education. This book will unlock soooo many innovative ways to make your class fun again.

I was introduced to WBT 2 years ago and was completely blown away with how easy it was to implement the techniques into my classroom. The difference between my classroom before and after WBT has been Absolutely life-changing. I was so excited when this book was released. The layout is easy to understand and mighty to impact. The updated information is perfect for students in our classroom now (as opposed to the original book, which was written 10 years ago). This book has left me feeling energized and renewed. I feel like my spirit has been lifted and I'm ready for Aug to be here! I can't wait to see a whole new group of Alpha-Hawks improve and grow. I have recommended this book to everyone educator I know! If you're taking the time to read this review, do yourself a favor... Get the book!!!! The only regret you'll have is not getting it sooner!
