This item worked somewhat. It did not completely stop the rascally rabbits from eating all the beans. Also my dog did not seem to be affected.

The description on these animal repeller lights states that there is an ultrasonic sound admitted that only animals can hear. However, I can also hear a sound as well. I put these up closer to our vulnerable animals after some others did not fair so well. I am hopeful that these will help to keep predators at bay, without startling, the animals that we are trying to protect. Time will tell if they actually deter predators. The set up an install was very easy. The ground spike is made of a very durable plastic. We will see if that plastic winds up cracking while being exposed to the environment.

I installed one of these in two different gardens and the critters have stayed away since. I can't hear them as an adult but kids that come over can and I am assuming the animals can and don't like the high pitch. They stand up well even in the rain and I do hear them clicking on and off when there is motion.

These units do not have a white light as pictured. I specifically wanted both a bright white light and the ultrasonic sound as deterrents. I returned it.

Easy to setup. Unobtrusive. Easy to put together and place. They are plastic, though, so my concern is that over time in the sun the plastic will become brittle and break. Other reviewers have mentioned being able to hear the sound, and that is something that usually bothers me -- high pitched electronic sounds. But I have not heard anything from this. I had high hopes that this could help deter some raccoons in my back yard, but...so far I have no proof of whether it is working or not, as I am asleep during the night. I will remain hopeful!

The solar panel on this thing is pretty big comparing to some others. There is no light or flashing light on this thing but the picture in the listing mentioned it has flashing light. Unless I didn’t see it clearly on the unit. The sensor works pretty well because when I walk by the sound goes off. It’s not loud like an alarm or anything but the sound is quite disturbing to my ears so I’m sure the pests wouldn’t like it. It’s like a sharp squeaky sound. The sound is much clearer than other ones I have. Like using nails and scratching on the blackboard. I like the solar panel is wide so it can recharge well. I put both around my big avocado tree. I noticed the rat or squirrel did get a mature size avocado and went to eat it at behind the ultrasonic. Reason I know is because the half eaten avocado was behind one of the ultrasonic. It’s easy to assemble and stick to the soil. Quality iams performance s better than two different kinds I had gotten before. Even though, these things don’t really repell 100% but at least I don’t see eaten avocados on the ground as much as I used to. The price is kind of expensive in my opinion but I see other similar ultrasonic has cheaper ones and also more expensive ones so this might be a price that’s in the middle. These comes in two units.

I got this set of 2 ultrasonic solar animal repellents in hopes they'd deter the stray cats from destroying my flowerbed. My neighbor likes to feed the strays in our neighborhood and for whatever reason, they feel the need to come over to my lawn & annoy me. When they aren’t digging up my flowerbed, they’re knocking all the décor over on my porch. I honestly believe these cats have some sort of vendetta 😆. I put one on either end of my flowerbed. They receive enough sunlight to function properly throughout the evening, into the next day. I know this why…because my husband goes to work at 4AM & I’m chasing off cats as he leaves. They do install quickly & easily. There’s virtually no assembly other than attaching the post & removing the film from the solar panel. They have small red LED in the center to indicate when they’ve been activated & emit a very high-pitched ultrasonic sound that’s audible but not obnoxious. My dog doesn’t seem bothered by it. He walked up, gave it a sniff & hiked his leg right away lol. It seems to pick up motion from a good distance. I’m sure my neighbors thought I’d lost my mind, walking across my lawn in the wee hours of the morning, testing to make sure they picked up all areas the cats normally wander over. In the description photos they appear to have a light in the center, but they don’t. I noticed the PIR sensor had a slight blue glow when I first powered them on, but it disappeared seconds later never to be seen again. I don’t mind but it’s worth mentioning in case that’s a feature you’re looking for. They’re sturdy, waterproof & hold up well against the elements. Overall, they function perfectly. Cats just don’t seem bothered by it. I can’t say how well it works against other animals. I’m leaving them outside just in case they possibly deter other pesky critters. Perhaps these few cats are just super villainous & not afraid of anything🤷🏻‍♀️. Why 3 stars…Technically, yes they work. They do emit an ultrasonic sound triggered by motion & operate via solar power. Do they repel animals? Not that I’ve seen & definitely not cats.
