This "Quaranta Country Berries and White Chocolate Nougat Roll 150 g (Pack of 2)" is one of several flavours of the soft nougats made by Quaranta and purchased at various times over the past three years. Some have been single flavour packs, sometimes two but mostly three identical, but others have been variety packs of multiple flavours within a 'theme'. Most soft nougats can be easily cut or portioned with a sharp knife, as will this.Nougat has long been a favourite within the extended family but, until fairly recently, always of the hard French or Belgian types. Once encountering soft nougat, originally from a Spanish manufacturer and also in various flavours, the type has also become a firm favourite.Many of the varieties include pistachios rather than almonds as used in French, Belgian and Spanish versions although a few may also include almonds or another nut variety. Various berry fruits are included within the slices. Pistachios slightly lower the overall texture and reduce the 'crunch' compared with almonds. The flavour is good but nougat is naturally quite sweet due to its high sugar content; this version with white chocolate is slightly sweeter than most others but there is a similar one with dark chocolate which may be a better balance. It is also topped with several glacé cherries and candied berry fruits.As a twin pack, it offers very good value.

Not my taste but might suit some however have sent 2 emails asking why on a sliced I received had rice tag £2.99 bt charged £15.99Not recommend

Exactly what I wanted to add to a semi freddo dessert recipe by James Martin. A big hit with my dinner guests. Worth the price tag.
