Great Saw - order the riser with it - you will want it (Updated after 2 Years)
Great Saw!!!I have been using a 60 year old Craftsman three wheeler which all things considered has been a great machine but this new Grizzly is night and day better. Its took me from a 4 inch to a 6 inch resaw and from 12 to 14 inches of depth. After seeing how nice the thing cuts I went ahead and ordered the riser block which is in transit as I type. While I haven't received the block yet I would recommend anyone purchasing this saw just get it with the initial order. There seems to be plenty of power and I suspect its going to work nice. The saw was reasonably well setup when I got it but I spent a few hours tweaking and squaring things up just to be sure. Time well spent as this saw is cutting real nice and straight. I am sure the higher end brands like Jet and Powermatic probably make a nicer saw but for the money I don't think you could possibly go wrong with this guy.The dust collection port is a bit shallow so my hose does not stay on without a clamp but other than that I cant think of anything I don't like. I never ordered a tool this big or expensive without getting to see it first hand but this turned out to be a great choice.Update: I got the riser kit today and attempted to install it but the riser did not fit. At first I really thought I got a defective kit. Turns out I did not pay attention and ordered the block for the g0555 not the g0555LX. Called Grizzly tech support and they took care of me right away. These guys are SUPER nice and SUPER helpful. This was 100% my mistake and they took great care of me. Because I didn't order it direct I did have to do a return and order a new (correct) riser but they could not have been more helpful. I will be getting more Grizzly tools in the future and will update again when I get the new riser kit.Update: After getting the riser block this guy is up to 12 inches of resaw capacity and working great. Definitely get the riser when you initially order. It takes the blades up to 105 inches so you don't want to buy blades and then upgrade later, they would no longer fit. I also added some casters to the stand. There is a mobile base option but some $4 locking casters from the big box store worked fine. This sits stationary in by shop 99% of the time so no need for anything fancy.Update after 2 years:I have now been using this bandsaw for right around two years so I thought I would stop back and update my review. I am still thrilled with this thing and am so glad I got it. Its still running like new and its been used A LOT. I would buy this or one of Grizzly's other bandsaw models again anytime.

Great Bandsaw!
After researching and studying I selected this saw over the Steel City 16", (mainly due to space constraints in my shop and my budget). I based a big part of my decision on reviews from fellow woodworkers so I hope I can help someone out as well. To say the shipping was fast would be an understatement! The saw arrived the same day I got the e-mail that it had shipped! This is my first Grizzly tool and it wont be my last. Upon opening the box I was concerned that I had purchased just another 14" bandsaw but I was quite mistaken! It took two friends and myself to put it together and install the riser block... so get some help lined up if you buy this tool.Fit and finish are awesome and the quality of this tool just blew me away (for the money). The bearing guides are a bit finicky but that's OK as I am going to upgrade to Carter guides soon. I bought this saw to replace a 14" Ridgid (I lovingly call the "boat anchor") and there is just no comparison. The saw cuts like a dream and the power is twice the Ridgid. I am not knocking Ridgid as I have the 3650 Table saw and absolutely love it. The riser block gives 12" of capacity and the saw runs very quite with the stock bearings. After fighting with cool blocks and ceramic guides for years this saw is just fantastic! The included fence with the re-sawing attachment is very well made as well. All in all I couldn't be more pleased and I am VERY happy with this piece of equipment!Update to this review.... After using the saw for awhile I am still very happy as it buzzes through anything that will fit under the bearings! I am so glad I bought this tool!Another update... After about a month of using this saw I am even more happy! The stock guides weren't doing it for me so I bought a set of Carter guides and man what a difference! This saw with those guides will do anything I want it to do and for the first time I actually enjoy using a bandsaw.Just a mini review for fellow woodworkers... I had some really long bandsaw blades that I picked up somewhere just hanging in the shop. So I bought the bandsaw blade repair kit from Woodcraft to make my own blades. The quality of the jig was lower than I hoped for, but it works and has already paid for itself in not having to buy new blades. I recommend it as you never know when you are going to break a blade....ONE YEAR LATERBeen using this saw for about 1 year now and like it more and more every time I use it! It is still going strong and I just cant give it enough praise. This bandsaw, Carter guides and riser block have given me the most bang for the buck of any tool I have ever bought!!!

Great saw!
Great saw!! Everything arrived with no damage, packing was excellent. Had one minor fix out of the box, but a couple turns of an allen wrench took care of it. Easy set-up and cuts like hot knife through butter. Upgraded blade to a Timberwolf .25 10t. Would recommmed to anyone looking for a solid bandsaw

Over a year of hard use and still very pleased
I've used the saw for over a year now. It's been put through all the things that you would expect to do with a band saw of this size many times, and a few things that really stretched its capabilities. The construction is solid and accurate. I have little trouble adjusting for new blades. The motor is powerful and smooth. Wood dust removal is adequate, but not perfect. All the accessories are useful and get a lot of use. The light is a nice feature. I use it all the time. What impresses me most about the saw is the ease with which it cuts through very hard wood such as osage orange. I have used it to cut thick (up to 6") blanks for turning without ever worrying about bogging down. As always the best results are obtained with a good blade. The blade that comes stock with the unit is adequate for a few simple cuts to get you started, but it is not very good and replacing it with a better blade will make a huge difference. I prefer the Timber Wolf 1/4" 4 TPI blade as my "standard" blade. I use it for 80% or more of my work, which mostly is making boxes and cutting pen blanks from logs that were rough-cut with a chain saw. I use a 1/2" blade for resawing bigger pieces. Would I purchase the same saw again? You bet!
