MORE THAN JUST A MICROPHONE STAND...
Within the process of being creative, it was suggested that one use "everything". The WEYMIC Microphone Suspension Boom Type IV costs $14.90 plus tax when I purchased it in November of 2021. The price is now $15.90. (11-08-24)After having spent a considerable amount of time searching for an illumination source for my antique LEICA biologicial microscope, I realized that a LED flash light would be suitable with a proper device to hold it in place. The WEYMIC Microphone Suspension Boom turned out to be absolutely perfect for the application.Although the construction of the entire unit is very sturdy, and made of metal, the clamping device for actually holding the microphone in place is made from plastic. Although the clamping device is plastic, it is well designed and manufactured. I would have liked to see the clamping mechanism made of a sturdier material; but it really doesn't seem that durability has been compromised in any manner.Nonehteless, for the price point, I would still make the purchase as careful use of the plastic clamp will significantly prolong the life of the device. Honestly, it really does seem durable enough as is!In any case, this microphone boom has performed superlatively for my application. I'm certain that when employed as designed, for a microphone, it will perform equally as well!I would purchase this product again!

Fits atop my monitor
I got this to screw-into the top of a small speaker I have that mounts on to any mic stand. The speaker has a mic adaptor on top, so I had been using a 12-inch gooseneck, but wasn't satisfied with how I could adjust it.So I searched for a small affordable boom, found this, and I could not be more pleased! I did remove the base to screw this boom mic stand into the top of my speaker, so now I have all the adjustment features I was missing with the gooseneck. This is well-made and so perfect for my use. I don't think it would be very stable using it with its small base on a tabletop, but you could screw it into a standard weighted mic base with it if you needed to.Excellent product, well-packaged, arrived in Prime time, so I'm beyond thrilled :)

Hilariously Cheap
I run a home studio and I generally like nice mic stands, but some uses I don’t mind cutting corners. I bought these because I was finding myself a little short on stands, but not $60-per-stand short, if you get me.I was seriously intrigued how these could be so cheap, but on arrival it all made sense. It’s nearly 100% plastic — like impressively devoted to plastic. So here’s my take: if they’d pulled off a nice stand for $15 I’d have given five stars. But what it is is an impressively cheap stand that functions alright but almost certainly won’t hold up, so it gets four. Before I give pros and cons: anyone who expected the base to be stable is either new to this or delusional. Studio trick: buy 1” diameter barbell weights and slide them on top of the base. I recommend two five-pound weights stacked. You need to do this with almost every stand of this design, so that’s not something to bag on this specific stand for.Likes: cheapDislikes:-I don’t trust the clip that extends the boom to withstand multiple uses (it clips with authority, so I’m afraid the clip will eventually break) so I plan to either beef it up with JB Weld or just leave it at full extension and adjust height by adjusting its angle.-even the mic clip adapter is plastic and it was worthless to me. It wouldn’t screw into a standard Shure SM57 mount without cross-threading so I grabbed a metal adapter and threw the plastic one away.So there you have it. It’s a fine stand if you know what you’re getting. For the price I’m not disappointed.

Desk top or speaker mic stand.
Nice little sturdy small mic stand, competitive pricing, well worth it's cost, mic holder is plastic, for those wondering?

Needs a heavier base.
I like the price. The base is not quite wide enough, or heavy enough to keep from tipping over when the stand is extended out. I solved this by putting a weight on the base.
