Scotch® Book Repair Restoration Protective Tape - 38.1mmx13.7m

Until I had to secure library labels in a new categorisation project, I hadn't heard of this stuff. Wish I'd come across it years ago. Strong - COMPLETELY CLEAR - and of quality you would expect from a manufacturer such as Scotch. I'm finding uses for this all round the home now. Love it.

Ideal, strong tape for re-connecting old hardback book covers to spine and repairing tears on pages. Obviously not as good as a professional repair, but will prevent damage getting any worse.

Amazed at the ability to repair books so easily and also in a way they seem toddler proof from anymore destruction. Ideal for baby and toddler board books for seams that may give us though use and accidental damage. Also appears to not easily perish during opening and closing of pages

Mended a few books with this. The roll is long, so it represents good value. It is much thicker than any other tape and makes a good seal. Instructions are full and helpful.

Loved this tape for repairing my son's well loved board books. The only problen is it had to come from the USA as they don't stock it in the uk.

Bought to repair an old, well used guide book. I managed to repair it (but the extra thickness of even this thin tape rather stretched the book spine rather out of shape - as I needed to tape in a lot of lose pages). However, the tape ripped easily as it came off the roll into jagged slivers. So not as easy to use as your normal transparent parcel tapes. But to be fair to them, it did do the job I needed it to do.

I inherited some old records from a friend's parent, and some of them were . . . let’s say, “well loved.” For example, the cover of the copy of Sgt. Pepper’s I got was almost completely split along the top and bottom, and the record sleeve needed some love too. Since they weren’t too far gone I used this tape to keep those edges together, and reinforce any tears! It’s stiffer and thicker than I expected, but in hindsight it makes sense. I just need to get better at folding the tape, because it sticks really well to the cardboard covers. I’m pleased with how well it works, I’ll probably buy some more if/when I exhaust this roll.

I wasn’t too sure that I would get an adhesive tape that would be effective for what I wanted BUT, it was actually better than I’d hoped. It isn’t incredibly thick. It seems very durable over time. No yellowing or drying out that I could see occurring. The adhesive is great. Not just for papers and books. So much Better than expected. I’ve used this to achieve a durable, aggressive stick to labels on PET type, and nylon type, Luer Lock plastic, laboratory bottles and that worked incredibly well. It’s also created a good water resistance to the labels. Leave it to 3M to produce the best adhesives for, like, 6000 different uses.
