Great Tools & Very Quiet
I have recently discovered AirCat air tools. I own many air tools and they are all Ingersoll Rand. Don't get me wrong, IR tools have been very good to me, but if you need a really small 1/4" air ratchet or Mini-Grinder, these AirCat tools are great. I bought both a mini grinder and 1/4" ratchet. They work really great, have plenty of power, hold the sockets tight and run very fast making hardly any sound at all. Money well spent, I am Very Satisfied!

It's BIG!
I just received this and as the title says, this is a large die grinder. I bought it to replace an Ingersoll Rand I've had for 20+ years. This is substantially larger and heavier. I weighed it and it came in at 649 grams. For comparison my IR weighs 522. (One pound is 453 grams) Size wise it's 7 7/8" long compared to 5 1/2" for the IR. (Measured from the end of the collet to the threaded port for a quick disconnect air coupling.)I did a fair bit of research and AirCat tools are said to be more powerful than their competitors. Well considering how much larger it is, I would hope so! I like the design of the trigger and while it seems to have an ergonomic shape, it's much heavier on one end than the other. I haven't used it yet, so that may not be a factor. They are also said to be much quieter. An additional reason I bought it is the composite construction. After using my IR for a while the aluminum housing gets really cold, so cold I'll have to put it down and let it (and my hand) warm up. I'm hoping the composite doesn't transmit that cold temperature as easily.Part of my research included AirCat's website. Their listed specifications are quite different than the tool I received. For example they list the weight as 1.1 lbs. That would be 498 Grams. The 649 Gram number is 1.43 lbs. (I reweighed mine again on a postal scale: 1 lb 6 3/4 ozs.) That corresponds with my 649 Gram figure. They list the length as 8.5 inches. Where are they getting that extra 5/8"?I don't think it's asking too much for a manufacturer to list product specifications accurately. I'm going to rate this as three stars, deducting heavily for the inaccuracies on their own website. After I use this tool I may revise my review.

Froze 2 weeks in
Was looking forward to the new Aircat grinders as they seem to get good reviews. The grinder showed up on May 26th and today is June 13th,the new grinder froze. I will say it is a bit on the big size but is a lot quieter than most that I have used.We use our grinders daily and have never had a grinder in the past fail only 2 weeks in, even the cheap ones from the box stores have lasted at least 6 months.Ordered up the replacement hoping this was just a fluke. We shall see & will report any problemsUpdate 10/26/17Well I am done with the Aircat brand. The replacement just froze again and this time I took it apart to see if maybe we could just order up replacement parts well the picture is worth a thousand words. These are total junk unless you are interested in throw away tools, stay awayfrom these grinders.

Speed trigger is badly designed.
Very nice die grinder. The problem is the trigger, it's a bear for long periods of time. Otherwise high quality.
