OAKMOORE Commercial Door Handle | Vacant Occupied & Commercial Restroom Lock for Public Bathroom & Industrial Buildings

After reading the reviews I was skeptical but got this for a commercial job that wanted the occupied feature for a certain room. It works fine, changing the handling from a left opening to a right opening door is very easy if you read the instructions and look behind the cover as you are removing it. (A doors opening is determined by which hand you would use to grab the door knob, standing on the side of the door as you pull it towards you.) Only turn the large trim cover 1/2" to the right I believe, you can see behind it the notch area gets larger to the point you can pull the cover loose from the backing and rotate the 90 degrees or so and re attach with a 1/2" turn the opposite way to reengage the notching to hold the cover on. The door handle will work on a 1 3/8" or a 1 3/4" door, and is adjustable for a 2 3/8 or 2 3/4" back set for the striker. Yes I would buy it again it seems to be well made.

The quality is excellent, can’t complain. I have had a cheaper version in the past from a different brand- no comparison. This one is very sturdy, doesn’t rattle and works the way it should! No regrets!!!

My employees love these. As the installer I will say the instructions are useless. I also has to do some modification to the door knob hole to get them to fit. Make sure to use some lubricant to get them to work smoothly.

To start, the 1st handle i received was faulty and had to be returned. The seller was good about the return, which was much appreciated, and primarily why I'm giving an extra star on my review. As far as the install, the instructions provided are absolutely terrible, which was to some extent, expected. I had to look up youtube videos to really get an idea of how to get the pin key to pop off that handle on the install, which was definitely the most aggravating part of the whole ordeal. All in all, the handle works okay, though the handle does not always snap back to the original position when pulled down on opening. And there's a sticky plastic film on the portion that says "occupied", that i could not completely get off, due to the fragile wire and inner workings behind it. I geuss we'll see how long this handle holds up. I may update my review further later on.

I like this product a lot. It is well made, heavy duty,, and covers old installations well. It looks great and seems to be doing the job on 5 heavily used public bathrooms in our facility. It has an adjustable backset as well. On some of our bathroom doors , they had installed commercial security latches which leave a nasty mark on the door and this products outer rings covers it well. My only wish would be that it had a foolproof lock that disengages when the door closes. Time will tell about the durability.

The handle is very well-made and easy to install. Unfortunately, it is not ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Compliant and ultimately did not work for my needs. If you do not require an ADA-compliant door lock, I would recommend this one.

This handle lasted a couple of weeks before the vacant indicator stopped turning, requiring attempts to repair. Nothing we did worked and we needed to purchase a different replacement. No refund was given as this process of trying to make the handle work had gone past 30 days. Definitely not a commercial grade product. Very unhappy with this waste of time and money.

Bought several and 2 stopped locking randomly.

The look of this lock is very professional, the item seemed durable on first inspection but after install the locking mechanism would get stuck at the half way point and would refuse to lock without "jiggling" the handle. After an hour of trying to adjust the lock to function properly I gave up and ordered a higher end lock. Disappointed as the higher end lock does not have the vacancy/in use sign but at least it works properly.
