what IS THE COVERAGE FOR 2.5L?

Depending on what you put it on wlth, it may be about three meters.About three meters

I managed ok. Its pretty sticky stuff so if you use a brush you need to be prepared to just chuck that away afterwards. I re-felted my summer house in fairly strong wind with no help and I was able to manage thanks to this sticking the felt down before I then used tacks to secure it in place. In a nutshell, its messy and sticky but definitely helps keep the felt in place and prevents the wind from getting under it.

how many square metres does it cover

According to the tin it should take 0.6-0.8 litres to cover 1 square metre of roof . Seemed about right when I used it as it needs a thick coating .

I have a leak between a flat roof membrane and an outlet. Can't find a suitable diameter sleeve. Could I just slap a load of this stuff down there?

I wouldn't say this is suitable. I use it to stick down shed roofing felt. In the past I have used an expanding waterproof foam to seal gaps, but be aware this can be messy!
