HQRPBattery Compatible with Flip MinoHD 2rd Generation Video Camera M2120 M2120M Cisco Mino HD

This is a solid replacement battery for the Cisco Flip MinoHD (I have the M2120M). I haven't used it for a couple of years, and haven't kept a charge on the battery during that time. Lithium ion batteries seem to lose the ability to hold a charge if dormant for too long. If you plug in your Flip, and the battery charge lights on either side of the lens blink red, and the LCD remains dark, then your battery is probably dead and needs replacement. The battery has four wires: Red and Black for power, and the middle two for the circuitry attached to the battery providing information to the camera (battery temperature, etc.) If the camera reports that "It's really hot...charging paused", but the battery and camera are cold, then the circuitry on the battery may have failed.This was the cheapest version of this battery I found, and it works just fine. Replacing the battery is not simple - you will need a tiny Philips screwdriver, an Exacto knife, some fine tweezers, and a plastic tool to crack the front and back sides apart, to dismantle the camera properly to get to the battery. I found a very instructive YouTube video describing the process, and with the right tools, it takes about 10-20 minutes.

I ordered this battery for my Flip Mino HD. This battery is physically smaller than the original Flip Mino Battery. Just by a small amount though, and it fit back into my Mino just fine. Nothing moving around in there. Plus the inside of the camera has 2 sided sticky tape in it to help lock it in place. There is also a metal cover locking it in place, so there is no movement of the battery. All the plugs and wires are compatible, thank God, because it took about 45 minutes to an hour to take the mino apart, and put it back together again without destroying it. Granted, I was simultaneously watching a YouTube video on how to do it, with pauses in between for the really difficult parts. Tools - Very Small Philips screw driver, one made for eyeglasses worked really well. High power reading glasses, tweezers, Plastic separating tool, or in my case, the little plastic screwdriver brush that came with my hair clippers. And a place to put the small screws so that you don't lose them. 2 sided sticky tape may be optional. If you are careful, you can reuse the sticky tape inside the mino. The battery works just fine. I have already taken a couple of hours of video with it. But it's my understanding that, after you use your mino, don't keep it plugged into your charger or USB port for an extended time or for storing it. Lithium Ion battery's hold a good charge, but leaving them charging for hours or days at a time will KILL them. So charge it, use it, and put it away.

This let me get my old honeymoon videos off the Mino HD which was definitely worth the price. It’s not a perfect replacement though, the physical size is a bit off and may not be as secure as the original. I haven’t actually used the camera too much aside from offloading my old videos from 13 years ago.I followed the iFixit replacement guide, but I had to leave it for several hours charging before the flip was detected by my computer.

Tried multiple ways to install but the lead would not plug into the small plug on the device. Original was maybe 5mm longer but that was just enough extra length. To bad it did not work. Debated splicing wire into the lead but decided to give up on the idea since I do not know if the wire is copper or aluminum.

Battery does not work. Every time I plug the battery in to charge, the screen says it is very hot and charging has paused. I'm not sure if these batteries are the right replacement or they just have bad temp circuitry. Either way the battery doesn't charge and I'm stuck with the same problem before I ordered this new one.

Replaced my old one with this and my device is back to life !

The battery was dead, and without it the data was inaccessible, even if connected via USB. Replaced the battery with this and it worked great. A few minutes and all files were retrieved.

Upon first replacing, it brought my old camcorder back to life! I was able to retrieve a number of old home videos I didn't know I had. That alone got this battery 2 stars. Unfortunately, it appears that the battery has a bad temperature sensor. Within 10 seconds of plugging the Flip into a USB port, I get a message that "battery charging has been paused due to high temperatures" even though the unit is completely cold to the touch. Now the battery is dead and I have no way to charge it. If you just want to get data off your old device, go for it. But if you expect this battery to completely resurrect your old device, maybe you should look somewhere else.

Ordered HQRP Battery, but to my surprise I received a coaster.. the packet inside the sealed box was tampered, I am lossing trust on Amazon.
