A masterclass in the palm of your hand
I have the digital version so alas, no photo to provide, but I've had this book since release and I have to say it's going to be an invaluable asset to be able to reference while editing. I was a very early adopter of FCP(X) and have watched it expand and mature into one of the fastest editing platforms on the market today. It's the first editing software I reach for and 95% of the time it's the right tool for the types of jobs I work on.If you've been in the FCP community for as long as I have, you have undoubtedly encountered Iain in some form or fashion. Maybe on MacProVideo, maybe on the BorisFX channel, or on the myriad of podcasts he has guested on. All this is to say: Iain is the GOAT when it comes to FCP knowledge. This book only further cements him as one of the most knowledgeable, trusted sources when it comes to learning FCP.In the short time since release I've referenced specific chapters four times to brush up on (relatively) newer features like the Object Tracker and Smart Conform, which are two things not generally in my wheelhouse but nevertheless get requests from clients to work within. After a quick "Find" of the terms, I was able to replicate the lessons on each to great effect. Simple, easy, and no sitting through 5 minutes of preamble that you'd encounter while trying to find the same answer on YouTube.Having this nearly-800-page book sitting alongside all of my projects to be able to reference is no doubt going to save me a ton of time while teaching me better technique in the process. The actual *definition* of Efficient Editing!

Excellent guide to FCP
As an editor who grew up using Final Cut Pro 7, the switch to FCP X was jarring and I struggled to get back into it after switching to Premiere Pro. This book is making me want to switch back to FCP! It's so clear and easy to read and all the screenshots help to understand exactly what the text is referring to. I am a visual learner so I much prefer reading a book with detailed descriptions and instructions like this one as opposed to watching video tutorials (strange for a video editor, but learning styles are all different!). I really love this book and am excited to re-learn Final Cut Pro again!

my new go to guide for fast answers
I used this book to improve videos for my YouTube channel. I learned to edit the audio channels and apply vocal effects. I was able to improve my workflow and editing skills. And I recommend this book for all skill levels if you need a good guide for editing.
