Does what it says, but there are other brands that I do fill have improved more

I technically got one use out of it, and it's actually a really neat little unit... But it broke first time backwashing. I was careful not to thread the syringe on too tightly, but the thread is VERY brittle. During pumping/backwashing, the unit cracked. Literally being as gentle as I could, and stood in my kitchen with everything laid out neatly - so NO WAY this would stand up to backcountry use.Amazon issued a refund, but no contact from Lifestraw. I'd be willingn to give them another go and adjust this review, if they can prove that it was a one-off fault, and can rebuild some trust through communication.

Just as advertised. Portable and durable. Have yet to use it. Seems a quality product

Life straw gives back to the world through providing clean water in poor places. I like that and that's why I bought several. As part of emergency preparedness, this would be a vital addition.

We used it for one week in Yosemite backpacking trip - worked flawlessly in combination with Smart water bottle.You will need a bit of strength to squeeze the bottle, but it works as it supposed to.We had two of them - one as backup, but didn’t have to use the second.It’s small and lightweight, perfect for backpacking when every gram counts…The right price including all discounts should be below $17.
