AFTER LOSING BOTH PARENTS SEVERAL YEARS APART, I REALIZED JUST HOW MUCH I HAD LET MYSELF GO WHEN THE DOCTOR'S SCALES SLID PAST 200. AT 64 IT WAS PAST TIME TO GET SERIOUS ABOUT MY HEALTH. SO I ORDERED SEVERAL BOOKS INCLUDING THIS ONE AND HEALTHY AGING. NO MORE 10-20 DIET COKES A DAY, NOW IT'S WATER. HEALTHY SMOOTHIES FOR BREAKFAST, NO PORK OR FRIED FOODS AND LIMITED RED MEAT. NOW BREAKFAST CONSISTS OF A HEALTHY SMOOTHIE RATHER THAN THAT SCRUMPTIOUS CINNAMON ROLL FROM THE DONUT SHOP. THE YOGA MAT UNROLLS EVERY MORNING AND WEIGHT TRAINING GOES EVERY OTHER DAY AS WELL AS WALKING WHEN POSSIBLE. BUT YOGA IS NOT ONLY HELPING MY BODY THROUGH STRETCHING BUT THE MEDITATION HAS DECREASED MY STRESS LEVEL. I'M AIMING FOR 140 AND MASTERING MORE AND MORE DIFFICULT YOGA POSES!

Feeling Your Age? Looking for Help?
Even if you're not a yogi, this book will inspire you to get moving! The authors share their personal stories to emphasize their current peace was never a gift, but rather earned after hard work. They then clearly describe how you, too, can feel better about where you are in life. Sorry, no magic pills or formulas, but instead clear guidance as to how to attain a stronger body, mind, and spirit, guidance provided with a bit of sass and humor. The key point is movement and a positive attitude are even more critical as we age. The cautionary note is as we age, we must be wise about our physical activities, in particular, in order to avoid exacerbating existing complaints or causing injury. Fortunately, yoga is presented as being both preventative AND therapeutic. If you already love yoga, this book will be validating. If "yoga" sounds foreign and scary, this is an excellent introduction to the power of that practice.

Great book
I loved this book. I have taken Michelle’s classes and have read her other book. I didn’t know Desiree’s story and one day hoping to experience one of her classes.There aren’t many classes geared toward older so I go to classes not meant for my age group and just modify. So far they let me stay.Not only did the book give me inspiration to continue but also things that just happen to a person after 50 andsome coping methods. Sometimes it helps to know it’s not just me. Even if you aren’t 50 it’s well worth reading, maybe younger yoga teachers too as it may help them help and understand those who are not 20, 30 or 40.

Worthy of all five stars
This is an excellent read, and wish I had found it at 50 and not 60; it would have helped me through my Cancer journey. But, better late than never.Update: Purchasing it in paperback now. Definitely the best purchase I made last year.This book does not belong on a book shelf. It belongs on the side table, so you can grab it, ever now and again, and read all the parts you have highlighted.This book is never far from my reach. Absolutely one of the best books I have every purchased.

OMGosh! I am only 1/2 way through Fearless After ...
OMGosh! I am only 1/2 way through Fearless After Fifty and it has become my new bible! THANK YOU for your GRACE.I am 65 yrs young and have been on the Path for many years. I have also been teaching yoga for a long time too. Desiree and Michelle have awakened my soul once more and helped reconnect me to what I am doing It for.

A great read with excellent advice and insights
I am enjoying this book.... it has insights and advice that are very valuable..... This book should be sold with the movie "Wonder Woman."

Awesome & Inspiring
With humor, these 2 yogis take you past fear and give you the building blocks to make your practice something to look forward to. They inspire you to continue to learn and grow even as the body ages.

Videos are extra
Great book but was unpleasantly surprised the videos didn’t come with the purchase price of the book. They never mentioned you’d have to pay extra for them. Cheesy.
