Great little Doggie Litter Box!
This is a great little doggie Litter Box! Its very well made! Its the perfect size for my 7 lb. miniature female poodle!. She likes room to circle and find a spot before she does her business! I live on the 10th floor of a high-rise condo building, so I trained my puppy to the doggie litter box. She's over a year now and is 100% trained to the box. Because the top layer is a green AstroTurf type of material, she has no problem using the grass outside when we are out and about. I like this particular Doggie Litter Box System because of the layer system.LAYER #1: The box is a heavy duty, durable plastic with sides and does NOT leak.LAYER #2: You lay a Jumbo Sized doggie pee pad on top of the floor of the plastic box. You can fold the edges to fit perfectly. You can change out the pee pad as often as needed. In my case, I change it weekly.LAYER #3: The plastic grate layer keeps the Astro Turf separated from the pee pad. The holes are well spaced so the pee goes straight through to the pee pad. The grate is a sturdy, heavy duty plastic.LAYER #4: The Astro Turf layer is cut to the size of the box and you receive two, so one can be cleaned while the other is being used. This particular turf has a very porous backing so the pee goes straight thru immediately. The poop sits on top and is easily removed with a poop bag or scoop. (I've learned that my dog will not pee in the box if there is a poop on the turf!! Prissy!)CLEANING: In my case, I take the box outside and take it apart about once a month to clean it; I spray the plastic box, the grate and the Astro Turf parts with a 409 - 99% - disinfectant spray on all sides and let it sit a few minutes; Then I hose it all down with a powerful spray nozzle on all sides; I leave it outside about an hour to drip dry. Trick: Use a skirt hanger with the two pinch holders to hold the Astro Turf pad during cleaning and drip drying. Works great! This Doggie Litter Box System is NOT messy and disgusting like a kitty litter box! Its all contained and all you see is a grassy patch! The best compliment to this Doggie Litter Box system is that my high-rise condo neighbors are jealous! They are taking their small dogs out 6-8 times a day - rain or shine! I would recommend this system whether you are in a high-rise condo or a single family home if you have a small dog, but the dog needs to be trained to the litter box as a puppy!

Helpful for Cavalier when it’s raining/bad weather.
Very happy with this. It came with two artificial grass mats. I started using it with a puppy pad underneath the grates for easy cleanup. Perfect on our porch for rainy days. Our dog does not like going out in the rain.

Nicely designed kit.
Overall, everything in this little kit was nice. Tray did well, puddle pads fit nicely, the grates that the artificial grass lay on was good. It just unfortunately wasn't something my dogs liked. If I had the grass on it, they wouldn't use it. If it was just a puddle pad, they would use it. That's a my dog problem and not a product problem though. Overall, would still recommend it.

Great for city puppies
This will not fool a dog who wants real grass. Our family’s suburban dog won’t touch this with a ten foot pole. However, it gives our city dogs a place marked for bathroom use in our paved backyard. We keep it outside and just rinse it into our drain every couple days (then let it dry in the sun) and it works great and doesn’t smell. My dogs didn’t like the texture at first but got over it! We would buy it again

Skip the artificial grass and just get a pee pad holder
I really wanted to love this product. We just got a 3 month old newfypoo and are in the middle of potty training. It didn't take long for our dog to start using the product, the problem is maintaining the grass potty training pad/tray. The smell of urine would definitely build up if you don't clean it at least every other day. Personally dragging the large tray to the bathtub, cleaning down 3 layers of this potty tray definitely wears you out. Cleaning the grass itself is not an easy task, b/c once you wash it taking it out and drying it can get messy and super wet (especially if you have a small bathroom). When I would be finished with washing the grass, I would then run too the balcony to dry off and switch it with the other grass ... you would then see a trail of water from the bathroom to the balcony. After washing the grass, I would have to go back and finish cleaning the tray and drain tray that you put on top of the pee pad before putting the clean grass on top. Honestly, it really got too much to maintain but didn't want to throw it away or go through the hassle to return the product (especially since it was not cheap) so we tried a different approach. Basically, we removed the grass from the equation and are now just using the tray and the draining trays that you put on top of the pee pad (to hold it in place) and it has been a game changer. Every night I can now easily lift the draining trays, remove the soiled pee pad and put in a fresh one and just wipe down the draining trays with a wet paper towel. There is no more urine smell build up and maintaining it has become 100x easier. The one thing that upsets me is that I paid almost $80.00 for a pee pad holder that I could have found for $30-$40. Our newfypoo still goes on the tray even though we removed the grass. I do want to mention, when we did have the grass on top of the tray our dog would love to lay in it, which was not ideal. Since the change, he has not laid on the tray even once. If you do decide to purchase this product, make sure to get nonslip furniture pads (because the tray will slide around if you put it on a hard wood surface) also consider getting a reusable pee pad to place under the tray because there are times when your dog can miss and ends up getting pee on the floor. Overall, it is not the products fault, it just didn't work for us, I really believe having the grass on top is not necessary because you end up with the same results of where your puppy goes potty as long as you train them where to go.

Great product!
Bought this for our 8 month old pup for “just in case”. We were buying real grass for the house and decided to switch to this artificial stuff. Our pup transitioned so well with it. He normally uses the rest room outside but this is for an emergency for him and he uses it with no problems. Update! Almost our 2 month update and adding a pic. I combined the 2 to make it bigger. I also bought a large washable pee pad and some smaller ones to put under it. I wash both of these and the washable pee pads weekly. After a good washing by hand I think they still smell like pee but it’s not overbearing. I don’t think it smells up the room.
