A Book I've Been Waiting For!
The book is intended to support the experts who are working with their clients using whole body vibration (WBV). Trainers will find a great deal of detailed information that they can use as they work with their clients. I use a Power Plate and have viewed every piece of research available to understand why I'm doing what I'm doing and what benefits are supposed to result from it. This book not only references research articles in a handy chart to save time and to keep all the information in one place, but is also helpful in application. I wish it had been available earlier. I would have saved many hours of research.Most "home users" probably will want to skip to the "How-To" pictures and apply them. For that alone, the book is an excellent resource. I had an arm injury that doctors said would never be better. I took a chance, ordered my machine, and my arm is now painless, the range of motion is greatly improved, and I'm stronger. I continue to be interested in the latest scientific conclusions, particularly in avoiding osteoporosis and other age-related topics. In addition, the provides access to a web site with 35 exercise video clips. The exercises clips load quickly and contain demonstrations that are simple and easy to follow. Good resource!

Currently the last word on the subject
This book is very technical and, I believe, objective. The authors have compiled a lot of research on Whole Body Vibration (WBV) and summarize and compare it. They also very thoroughly explain how and why WBV works and that it is not just some gimmicky new thing. After reading it I realized that the whole body vibration machine I have is really a whole body massager. Anyway, the book has more information than the average person -- like myself -- is going to want to know. However, it has tons of really useful data in the form of how to do the exercises. What the contraindications are. Who benefits and who does not. Lots of information on what speed settings to use for what purposes. It covers information on how to use the machines if you have chronic illness or are an athlete looking to get the last 10% increase of strength you have been working to get.The book pushes no particular machine and is not after you to buy anything.

Clinical is the key word for this book
This is an expensive book and is not for the lay person! It looks like the results of a PhD dissertation and assumes a significant level of prior understanding re: physical training. It takes a lot of time to go through the exercises and understand how to do it. I am a newcomer to WBV and when reviewing it online, this seemed like a good option for me. I should have spent more time looking at the reviews before buying this book. There is so little out on the market re: WBV and I was too anxious to get info.

Hard to read - too much medical journal jargon
Not worth the $40+ price of my Kindle version for me anyway. Too much "in the weeds" medical journal details. Hard to read, but it did have an excellent section on exercises with illustrations. I still can't believe the price of the hard copy version.

well made but not a pleasant machine to use
The machine is made well and is sturdy. The problem I have with it is how I feel when using it. My neck gets quite sore which I think is caused by the back and forth motion the machine has. It is not as bad at the faster speeds. I generally don't feel good after using it for even just 5 minutes.

Great research
This is a must if you have the wave vibration machine. Yes, there is quite a bit of technical writing to go through; however, if you read it carefully, the author defends each purpose of the machine with research. I think this is valuable information for those who are dubious of the machine's ability to make a difference. This kind of research is valuable because it is so rare to find.

Now I know I am on the right track!
I might have felt my vibration machine was too easy... but the book makes it very clear that I am on the right track.
