I liked that these most resembled the factory latches. They were super easy to install. The threads were even the same size as the factory nuts, so I reused them. The locks feel a little cheap, but I don’t open the hood very often anyway. Time will tell if that bites me. But it was a very cheap and easy way to make sure that my hood is at least secured when in hotel parking lots.

Love them. Real easy to install. Fit perfectly. The key to turn is a little hard to turn. Will try silicone spray.

1- get small cable cutter pliers and cut out the spring that pushes the lashes forward, this spring causes the lashes to overlap under the hood and it takes 2 people to close the hood which is inconvenient. 2. You need a 1/2 ratchet and #14 wrench, keep OEM screws, dispose the screws it comes with. 3 you need to push on it to turn the key, every time you unlock or lock. Other than that pretty sturdy just a couple mods to work on.

Had to disconnect the springs, otherwise impossible to latch hood without another person. Keyed the same, great feature, included 4 keys. Internal components are showing signs of corrosion, visible rust. Does NOT appear to be rust resistant. Six months old in the photos. One latch is now missing a retainer on the pin.

I had to change out my locks since the other rusted after a few rain storms and crumbled. These has been good to me easy to unlock and open. Works well for me

I ordered these to replace another set of locking latches. I was hopeful these would be good for my Jeep hood but found issues with them. Cons: - The set I ordered did not come with the correct clasp on one side. I'm not sure if it wasn't machined right or if they sent me two different clasps from two different hood latch kits. I ordered a replacement set and found the parts were as I expected. - The keys from both sets are identical. All 8 keys will fit either of these locks. I would prefer a unique lock and key set. - The springs are so strong that if I take my Jeep in for service, they may not realize this and slam the hood on the locking latches and break them. The springs keep them in the way of closing the hood. Pros: -Looks good on the Jeep. -The locks are visible for anyone servicing my Jeep. (This is important since I had an old set that were the lock was covered by rubber covers and the service technician at the dealer pried them open) Overall, I do like the looks of these locks but will need to get a locksmith to re-key them if I want unique keys. I will see how the function over time. They seem to be a good value for the money.
