This was my 2nd 3D printer, having had and learned on an Anycubic Kobra. As my knowledge and skill had started to outstrip what my little Kobra could do, I started looking at a new printer. The benchmark in 3D printing circles for "top quality" has always been Bambu, and I was all set to buy one until I came across QIDI.I spent a long time doing research on what machine was best for me, and finally I decided to go with QIDI, and opted for the X Max 3. What a step up! This machine has been incredible. Mechanically it is sound, giving perfect prints of all types of materials and handling them all with ease. Compared to what I was used to, the speed of prints is unbelievable. It honestly will do anything I throw at it, with the only limitation being my design skills. To say I am impressed is an understatement. It's such a joy to print with this machine.One thing that really swayed me on my decision to buy this was the reputation QIDI have for customer service. I have inevitably needed to reach out to customer support for help a couple of times. Each time, Linda has been brilliant and really thorough in helping me figure out a solution to my issues. None of them have been extensive problems or mechanical failures - despite the price, these are really well made - but I have had parts sent out FOC that have arrived in a matter of days. They really look after you and honour their warranty. I have 2 QIDI machines now and can attest to that in both cases.There are extensive mods and upgrades that can be done, and I've done a few of them on my machine just to really dial it in. But honestly, this will print out of the box pretty near to perfectly as it is. And for this price point, I really don't think anything can touch it.

purchased a QIDI XMax II 3D printer nearly 2 years ago so I could print large items.Print quality and speed is impressive. I have used modified open source engineering design software to create highly detailed 1/4 inch scale railroad models. These large models have small sub-millimeter surface details that push the printer resolution past expected limits using parameter tweaks enabled by the feature rich slicing software supplied.The printer was delivered promptly arriving in a very well packaged box and was unpacked and producing superb prints within hours with the help of the supplied guide and really useful videos.The printer is robustly engineered with a metal frame ensuring mechanical stability and suppression of vibrations. The print engine mostly employs high quality standard engineering components in a neatly arranged layout with good access.The quality is such that after 2 years of heavy duty with only the usual cleaning and lubrication there are no signs appreciable wear. The printer comes with a comprehensive tool box with some spare parts that allow easy and straight forward maintenance thanks to clever design.The printer control panel is intuitive and simple to use and printing is quiet and reliable using PLA+, HIPS, ABS and TPU and can be left unattended without fear of coming back to a plastic birdsnest. Printed surfaces come out smoother than those of other printers I have used. The auto shutdown feature is a real energy saving bonus.Adhesion problems can be a source of frustration but the sintered steel build plate of the XMAX provides reliable model adhesion and a long usable life and I now use similar plates on another pronter.Customer support really is first class, providing technical support via Email long after the more usual 1 year warranty. Allowing for the occasional time difference delay, reponse to queries is prompt, effective, friendly and quibble free and any spare parts required arrive within a couple of days.In conclusion, if you want value for money professional quality, reliable, versatile printing with brilliant customer service then yhe QIDI XMAX 3D printer is highly recommend.
