This part fit perfectly on the chair I purchased from Amazon 2 years ago. That chair base was cracked 3/4ths of the way around the piston mount hole and was getting dangerous. This replacement is heavier duty than the original.

I had to purchase this to replace the one on my chair that had bent causing the chair seat to lean. this one is a lot heavy duty, thicker metal, and higher quality then the one that came with the chair. it's definitely worth the money.

I bought my office chair at Sam's Club in 2018 for $213.98 tax included. The chair base was squeaking and one day it started leaning more than usual. Upon inspecting it I found several really long cracks in the base plate. So I went searching for a new chair and could not find what I wanted at a decent price. I found this base rated for 500 lbs though my old chair was only rated for 350 lbs. The four mounting holes on my chair matched this plate so I made the purchase. I wouldn't say this was necessarily an easy replacement mainly due to the troubles I had with removing the old piston from the cracked base. I ended up having to use a grinder and hacksaw to finally expose the end of the piston so I could pound it out using a deep well socket and a hammer. There may have been an easier way to do this so check Youtube. I just did not know what old parts were needed for the final fix. Not sure why La-Z-Boy used all those cables when this simple design handles it all. If you don't want to deal with removing the piston my suggestion is to purchase a new one. However you will still have to get the old piston out of the swivel wheel base.My chair no longer squeaks! The single lever activates both the piston and locks or unlocks the seat back. The chair feels way more solid. This chair was suppose to have a 10 year warranty but this repair was far easier to deal with in my opinion and it's way sturdier than the original base.

I bought this because I bought 3 gaming chairs a few years ago, and 2 of them boke the mechanism before one year. The seller sent replacements for those 2, but they were the same low quality mechanisms thar will probably break again.My 3rd chair that I use finally broke a few weeks ago, so I decided to get this heavy duty mechanism. I am very happy with it, because it is ay least twice as heavy as my old broken mechanism was. It installed easily.The only problem I have is that my chair had a pull out footrest that I can't put on right now, because when it is pushed in it will now go all the way in due to it hitting the adjustment lever. The old mechanism had a lever that was bent downward, and this one is straight. I may try to bend the lever a little, but it is thick, so it may not bend easily. This is not a fault of the mechanism. It was just not designed for a chair with a pullout footrest.

I didn't even know you could replace this part. The one that came on my nice, expensive, Serta chair tore.I did research and stumbled across this particular unit and ordered one.I don't usually gush over a product but, OMG, I was so utterly impressed when I got it and compared it to the busted one from my chair I went and ordered one for my other chair right away.These are so solid! They make the unit from the, I repeat EXPENSIVE, Serta chair look like toilet paper.I am an engineer. These are extremely well designed and the gauge of metal is heavy. They have flanges in all the right places to make the whole unit rugged.Just a note, I am ~400lbs and these are my go to solution.We have been using these for several months now.6 stars, two enthusiastic thumbs up. I am not a robot and have not been compensated in any way. We love these. Saved two very expensive chairs and to be honest made them both more comfortable and less wobbly. Job well done. I used on a chair that the unit had broken down. This one is heavier metal than the one that came onthe chair.

My last chair base didn't make 60 days before starting to wear out and become unstable. It was rated for 400lbs. I'm nowhere near that (bigger than average, but not that big). Got this to replace that one. This is much better than your "standard" base. The sheet metal is at least 3x as thick and all parts look like they'll last a long time. After watching a video to remove the existing gas piston, it was easy to install.

The metal on this is almost twice as thick as my old/broken one. It weighs a lot more than the old one as well.The tilt adjustment is easy to reach and is very smooth. My old one always was temperamental. The tilt bar itself is larger in diameter than my old one. The old one would occasionally flex a bit when using it, this one is SOLID!Now if they can only make hydraulic chair cylinders as heavy duty!
