This is clever, compact, convenient and wonderful for urban sketching or painting in the park. The design is brilliant and it’s easy to work around the few … I can’t say problems … the few limitations there are.I thought this was going to. be one peice with some sort of hinge. It’s actually two, and the trick is magnets. The dots on the corners are magnets and there are two more on the side to hold the units together. Which means if you want to clip the palette to one side of your board and the mixing board to the other you can. It comes with four binder clips. The magnets are reasonably strong. I don’t foresee it popping open on its own.The pans are small, about half the size of a half pan (a quarter pan?). And the space between them is small so it’s easy to have a little leakage. My French ultramarine came out a little too watery and too much so it bled into the burnt sienna above and I had to sop up a bit of the black paint it formed. It’s worth it to have so many paints in so little space.The mixing area is small. I’m able to get by with it, but might add a sheet of paper palette to the back held on by the clip if I find I need more space in the future.The mixing area is also easy to clean. The photo with them seperated shows the beginning of a work session. The photo with the clip is after I cleaned the palette.It is waterproof, of course. It’s gotten pretty soaked, no issue. But keep in mind the seal isn’t water tight, so if it gets wet while filled, the water can get into the pan area easily.I love this so much, I’m going to pick one up as a gift to a friend who also loves watercolor. It’s too good not to.

I take this camping to all my destinations and make a small painting. It's the perfect size! Small and functional!

magnets are super weak. which defeats the ENTIRE purpose of this thing. overall, uncomfortable and wood warped after one use when left overnight with paints inside. lame.

She loved it and wants another for more colors

The wooden pallet showed up warped and doesn't fasten at all four magnetic corners. I'm going to attempt to repair it but I'm disappointed. Everything else seemed to be fine, but keep this in mind as a possibility when you order it.I bought the 15-slot option.

I really like this little pallet! The only complaint I could add is that there are no little cups to go into the holes which would be a great and easy way to change colors/clean out when you want to. Everything else is great though. The paper in the notebook seems to hold well with water and layering.I included a photo of a painting I did in the book using the brushes. I also included a picture of how I made up my pallet (which comes empty - already knew that) with some watercolors I had at home. The other photo is for reference. I put the pallet by a standard sticky note and rubber band.The pallet does have magnets on it, but when I throw it in my bag to travel, I cross two rubber bands for extra security incase it comes undone.

I got this for my artsy sister she loves painting and the kit is so travel ready and wonderful. She even likes the brushes which is great. She takes it camping with her now all the time.

Will to start off with , I love it it’s the right size for Traveling , well worth the money , the only downfall is the paintbrush you have to feel up the bushes with paints , so I brought water brushes already with the paint ♥️✌🏽
