The second half of Ed Brubaker's run.
This is the tail end of the Ed Brubaker run of Daredevil. It's not as good as the first Omnibus, but it's passable. I reread this recently when I found out that this Omnibus was being reprinted, as I own the original stories in Trade Paperback format. I love collecting these Omnibus tomes and was really hoping that there was something I overlooked on first reading. It's decent, and it should certainly be read if you have read the first Omnibus. However, it meanders a bit and never feels quite as impactful to Matt's life as the original. It also has a heavy focus on the ninja aspect of Matt's life, and Brubaker is way more suited to crime drama that the first volume encompassed. The first volume cannot be missed, it's a great chapter in Matt's story, and this one should be read in tandem just to wrap everything up, but I've always been relatively lukewarm to it and felt that Brubaker is capable of better. It's decent, but don't pay full price for it anywhere. Amazon already has it at 33% off as of this posting, but I feel like I want it to drop even more before I spend any money on it seeing as how I can just read the floppy TPB's I have in my collection. Also, look at the page count. Very short for an Omnibus, even at this price point. I think there are about 3 total TPBs included here? I borderline feel like they could have inflated the price of the first Omnibus a little and included it all here. I know I've got some Omnibus volumes that go over the 1,000 page count.
