Bormiolio Rocco Clear Jar with Chalkboard, 17.5 Oz

I removed the rubber ring and use this to store my sourdough starter, which lives in my fridge the majority of the time. The starter is very happy in there - seems to get the right about of oxygen to stay healthy.

I use a jar for my sourdough starter. I remove the seal to let my starter breathe a little more. Jar works great.

Love this jar! I bought 2 others to store my coffee grinds in & they weren’t sealed correctly so my coffee would be stale after a week. This jar is large, has a tight seal & I love the little chalkboard feature! It’s also very sturdy & heavy!

The quality of this jar surprised me, it is thick heavy glass, the rubber seal on the lid fit great, the latch on the lid works well and it seems to seal well (I’m only storing dry goods so can’t tell you if it leaks). After 2 days I wiped off my chalk marker on the chalkboard label to see if it etches, so far after just a few days it clears off well, not sure if it would etch if chalk is left on for longer periods of time. Overall very happy with the product and I plan to order other sizes for additional storage.

I got this for my amish friendship bread starter. I liked that it looks nice so I don't mind having it out on my counter. the label comes in handy because I can write the last date I fed my bread. It is air tight so it keeps everything alive. It is nice and tall with plenty of room for the bread to grow. On the days I bake the bread I was out the jar and then add the starter back. It is easy to wash and is well made.

I use these to brew vanilla. I can brew a lot of vanilla at a time and they are easy to label so I keep my different types straight. The jars are even sturdy enough that I can even use them in my sous vide to speed up brewing time!

I am making my own bread (sourdough and friendship bread) they both are required to be left on the counter to work their magic. These are absolutely perfect for this (my only wish is that the opening (mouth) is bigger to stir them) I got this size and one size difference for each. These are much more classy looking than the plastic bag, peanut butter jar or other ugly container. I'm pleased

If you find these on sale, they are a bargain. Make sure they don't arrive chipped like one of mine did.

I ordered 5 of these. Great size and excellent quality. One of the jars was delivered without a rubber seal. I contacted Amazon and a brand new jar arrived the next day. My only complaint was that I have to return the one jar when all I needed was a seal. To be fair, I was not able to contact the company directly. It was through Amazon.

I am impressed with this product and used it for my first batch of sauerkraut.
