I bought this as a replacement for an almost identical PIR model - The wiring diagram showed my two mains wires going to the top and bottom holes of a three section wiring block with two appropriate coloured length of flex leaving the other side ... simple.Unfortunately what you are presented with are five lengths of flex in the three section block - if you wire it as per the instructions the lamp is always on and, when dusk falls the household fuse blows and the whole thing ceases to functionCustomer service from 'The Light Factory' was exemplary and fast, with an immediate full no-questions-asked refund. They did add that they would recommend a qualified electrician fit it; I had simply followed the instructions providedOn taking it off the wall, I found that if you prise the three section block out of the housing - it reveals a small L and N directions, completely different from the instruction leaflet and invisible until you take the fitting apart

Bought this as a straight swap for an identical item that had stopped working (after some 5 years) so it was easy for me to fit.They are a bit light weight to be honest. But they look fine once up on a wall and the sensors seem to work very effectively if you want a dusk til Dawn light.Got three fitted at the same time and two are still fine. For what I've paid for this one, if it gives me at least another five years, I'll be happy.

The cable entry should be near the bottom, this is to prevent water entry & also make it easy for a similar replacement.Fortunately the cable was long enough to pass behind the mounting bracket & a drip loop, then up between the dust/dawn sensor to the terminal connectors.The lantern has glass windows so be careful of the very sharp edges when assembling (I put cardboard on my table & used gloves). Then fixing it to the unit which should be perfectly level, correctly wired & secured to the wall.I put tinfoil inside the top to reflect light down which makes a difference shining light onto my steps.The light comes on too early when still daylight, but not a problem.I used a good quality spirit level & the lantern looks fantastic!

Good looking lantern with a nice light and also has real glass panels. My only dislike is that once fitted there was about 5mm gap at top and bottom where it meet the wall and my concern was water getting inside to electrics. I have managed to covered this gap. Weight of the glass does not help.

Bought this to replace the original metal one on our 1995 bungalow which had failed and rusted shut. The panels are a decent thickness of glass and fit easily.....instructions for fitting are clear and simple. Takes about 30 seconds after dark for the light to come on. It does come on like a switch and doesn't flicker. Bright enough to illuminate approach to the door and the porch and hopefully make 'billy burglar' go further along the street......Made of plastic but is matt and looks better in my view than the old one it replaced...very happy.

Great light - especially like the fact that the panels are glass, not plastic, although 2 panels were slightly larger than others so took a bit of manoeuvring to get them to fit properly. Dusk/daylight sensor works exactly as it should; a motion-sensor light would be a nightmare where I live so this is perfect.

The lamp works well and is easy to install, my only gripe is the quality of the materials used. I have an identical lamp purchased about 12 years ago, it is of metal construction with nicely beveled glass inserts, this lamp is plastic with poorly cut glass inserts which I'm not sure will keep water out. I doubt the longevity of this lamp but we shall see how it goes.

I bought this coach lamp to replace an old sensor light. Unfortunately I didn’t realise that it doesn’t act as a movement sensor light, but does in fact light up at dusk and presumably goes off at dawn. My mistake entirely!!Having said that I really like the look of the coach lamp and the bulb gives off a gentle glow in the garden rather than a strong blast of light every time the wind blows! I shall be keeping this good looking lamp.
