Superb - saved a radiator replacement
Had an old radiator that I've been unable to bleed, due to a siezed bleed valve. Didn't want to risk applying too much pressure to the key incase it broke. This product saved the day!Took about 30 seconds to drill through the metal of the radiator, then bit and sealed - there was a small amount of time where water came out (less than a second), but if you turn off the radiator valves before drilling, you can minimise this. There was some slight leaking when I tested it, but i tightened it up a bit by hand, and it's been fine ever since.Would definitely recommend and use these again - cheaper, quicker, and far easier than replacing the radiator with a new one!

It is indeed genius
I had a radiator that was cold but the bleed nut had snapped off so the air couldn't be removed. I screwed this self-drilling bleed screw with an electric screwdriver following the instructions and it worked like a charm. You need to be careful not to slip or over tighten, and also make sure the hole is drilled straight but the rubber seal seems to be working and the radiator is too hot to touch, brilliant. Watch the video instructions and it's very easy, the whole job took five minutes.

Very good
Worked perfectly installed in under a minute, turned the rad off for the first one , did the second radiator with the water on as it goes in very easy.with out these think I’d be replacing the radiators.

Best invention ever!
The original part on the radiator that loosens to bleed the radiator warped. The only alternative was a new radiator until we discovered this! It was so easy to fit and works a treat! Does the job and have saved us having to buy a new radiator. Very pleased with this purchase.

Good idea, totally wrong design...
With the dimensions as measured from the product I received, there is no wonder that so many customers are complaining about failed installations, and that everybody seems to agree that the draining valve, even if successfully installed, is only a temporary solution. From technical point of view, the execution of the device is simply disastrous, having great potential of irreversibly damaging the radiator. The recommended pilot bore should be around 4.5 mm diameter in steel plate used as material for standard radiators, when the thread has a major diameter of 5.75 mm. Instead, the self tapping section would drill a pilot hole with a diameter of minimum 5.45 mm, having the potential of drilling a much bigger one, due to the wobbling of the valve when self-tapping the hole. No wonder then that the thread has very little chance to engage.Drilling a pilot bore before using the item, as some customers are saying, has little chance to make the things better, probably avoiding the excessive wobbling of the draining valve increases a bit the chances of a successful (but still temporary) installation.I will try to file the self tapping section to a 4.5 mm diameter, but then all the zinc plating that is supposed to protect the item for corrosion, will be gone.I would give this item a zero point if possible, as it has the potential to produce a great damage to the otherwise good radiator.

Simple / can recommend
Really easy to install. I turned off the central heating and drilled a small pilot hole first to prevent the self-tapping screw from slipping. I had the torque on my cordless drill set lowish to avoid stripping the hole when tapping the part into the radiator, which could cause it not to hold and potentially lead to leaks. You’ll need a socket attachment for your drill.
