Works very well
So far it has worked very well , it was purchased to change the oil on a Range Rover which has a dedicated drain pipe at the top of the engine . The largest tube supplied is just the right size to fit over the drain point . The only problem is that the tubes are not long enough to reach from the engine pay to the ground at the side of the car . I had to place the pump on a table at the side of the car . Two or three pumps and the oil starts to flow , The 9 litres capacity is not quite enough for a full Range Rover , I had to poor a little out of the pump and continue . It drained the sump completely with no mess in around 5 minutes and the oil it easy to transport in the pump to the recycling centre. There is no need to pump the handle too many times just keep the pressure low enough to do the job . It is well worth the price and makes the job easy and clean .

Was sceptical at first- now I’m a convert
If your oil filter is mounted at the top of your engine then oil sucking is a no brainer. You can perform an oil change without scrabbling about under the car, keep your clothes clean and do the job at home saving a lot of money. This Shoze extractor is a great product and a wise investment. Easy to use, strong and effective. My only gripe is that it is a bit fiddle to clean, but that could just be me. Regards E.R.

Good sturdy pump but the tubes are a bit short.
Pros: - Good quality pump - Good section of tube sizes - Easy to use and clean afterwards - Minimal mess - Decent oil size. Cons: The tubes are very short - too short to pump oil from the dip-stick and have on the floor. Two options: 1) put it on a stool or 2) daisy-chain two of the tubes together which should then give you enough length to leave the pump on the ground.

Job done, well impressed.
9l version. Well impressed. The pipes are too short, but that’s because they can be connected together. Took me less than 5 minutes, to draw out all the oil. Though in this picture I used the largest and the smallest hoses, in the end I switch to the largest and the medium hoses which drew out the oil faster. Pumped it four times and it did its thing all by itself, stopping when no more oil to suck. For storage I plugged each end of the hoses to stop dripping with paper tissue and zip tied them to the unit.

It has worked perfectly
With engines which have oil filters accessible from the top, I would probably never do it the conventional way again. It saves time from jacking the car up, removing the undertray, placing a tray underneath the car hoping nothing will drip outside of it, still having to poor it afterwards into a container, risking some extra dripping on the floor. Even with cars where you still need to jack it up to remove the oil filter, the other benefits mentioned above are still there. Regarding its reach, you can either use just one pipe directly between the pump and the dipsticktube, or use a large pipe provided as an extension pipe, connecting the pump to the one you will be using inside the dipstick tube. So there's no need to raise the pump up for extra reach. Another great thing was that as you pump it, it keeps negative pressure inside the container, so once you pump it a few times, you can start doing the extra work (oil filter, air filter, etc) whilst the oil is being sucked automatically, with just a few extra pumps here and there to keep the flow going. Also, as you don't touch the oil at all as you would normally do when draing it through the sump plug, you can start draining the oil with the engine boiling hot, allowing a very fast flow due to the lower viscosity. So in general I found it easier, faster and cleaner than the standard method. As an ex-VW Tech, who's done thousands of oil changes over the years, I couldn't see any disadvantage of this pumping method over the standard one. Veredict: I was happy with it and recommend it.

Excellent
This product really sucks, which is exactly what I bought it for. Arrived promptly, well packaged. I like the fact it had no instructions, and they rely on your common sense to put it together. Seriously, I'm tired of being patronised by too many safety warnings and bad line drawings when something is obvious. I used this to remove the oil from my petrol mower. In the past, I have had to lift the mower onto a workbench and top it back and leave it in position for several minutes while the oil trickled into a pan. This fiendishly cunning device extracted the oil in a minute or so. Big tube to get most of it out quickly; small tube to get the rest out. Holds 7 litres, so I don't have to empty it every time, and it has an easy pour spout so I won't spill it. Also planning to use it on the motorbike. Excellent piece of kit.
