Carmel Tailors Chalk, Box of 48 (White), Super-Glide Tailor Crayon, Wax-Based Fabric Chalk

My mom had been a tailer for 20+ years. She has always used these “Panda” brand chalk from overseas. However, I happened to came across this product and seen a lot of positive comments. Decided to buy a box for my mom.When it first arrived, we open it right away and try it on the fabric. It was very hard to draw and left a very light and thin line of chalk. However, after letting the box sit for a day, my mom tried it again the next morning and it felt amazing. Very easy to draw!!!For the amount of money that I spent for this box, it is amazing!!! I wish I can keep buying more to support the company but I don’t think my mom can finish all of them anytime soon. xD

I've been sewing for nearly 20 years and by far these are my favorite. They glide over a variety of materials and easily fades away with an iron. I do suggest that if you have some residue to wipe at it with a damp cloth and go over it again with the iron. Depending on the material you're working with, sometimes a go through the washer and dryer is the only way to remove the residue from this chalk. It's a great value overall and it's a great tool to have in your sewing or making arsenal!

Super chalk at a great price!

I could not hope for a better chalk to use for my sewing projects! I am so glad I did my research carefully. These are soft and easy to mark with. The marks will disappear under steam iron. This is so much better than buying those expensive sewing markers because it doesn’t pollute! I’m always in search of plastic-free solutions and this is a completely eco-friendly tool for the sewing room. Now I am back to purchase more colors for those light colored fabrics.

Helli friends! I am a professional tailor and have been searching for a reliable and vaporizable chalk for quite some time now.After a few unsatisfactory puchases in the past ive been hesitant to buy more. But I think i found one that ill be using for quite some time.Pros-1. this is a vivid white wax. It shows up very well on fabrics that are mid to dark tones.2. It vaporized very well. As soon as i released steam from the iron the marks dissapeared.(Keep in mind that all fabrics are different. I would always reccomend a test strip of your fabric just to be sure that the mark will release)3. The product came whole. No broken pieces!! (However, this was not packaged securely. That will be in my cons)4. This product came EARLY. Very happy about that.5. There was NO SCENT. A huge problem i had with a previous order was with The rabbit chalk brand. The smell was so powerful that it was impossible to use. It was worse when steamed... This is nothing like that.Cons- now my cons list is short but a few things worth mentioning1. This arrived in a polymailer with NO cushioning or bubblewrap. Im kind of shocked cause one wrong drop would have shattered these pieces.2. There is not an information as to what the wax is comprised of. I believe thats a concern for anyone who may have sensitive skin or allegies.Additional info-I have not used this long enough to know if the marks will stay long term and if they will remove easily afterwards.Of course some tailors can have garments sitting for a few weeks in between when the garment is marked to when it is sewn.I will leave an updated review in about a month with updated information.Overall this product seems worth the value. I would definitely recommend to any tailor/seamstress.

We're professional tailors. This waxy chalk is what we use extensively. For those not familiar, when first arrived they will seem more waxy when handled than what it becomes after a few months or so. When iron on, the chalk disappear in 99% of the fabrics, only a few type of fabrics it seems to show the minor oily line but also disappear after awhile.

Love this for sewing . Marks easy and doesn’t leave a mark . I had it before and was looking for awhile to get more. Better than the pencil or other marking tools
