Generic Kat Kave Extra Large Litter Box (Sandstone)

I'm a cat guy from a cat family. I married a cat girl and we had cat kids, and now have cat grandkids. We also have cats, lots of them. The Kat Kave is by far the best litter box I've owned. I bought my first one because I have one cat who stands to pee. I used to get other covered litter boxes, but they are just litter boxes with a cover added. Since the cat peed standing up, some of the urine would get caught in the seam between the lid and the pan and having to clean that area every day was tiresome. I tried using storage totes and cutting an opening in the front. They solved the 'pee caught in the seam' problem, but with a big hole cut in them, the totes weren't durable. Truth be told, they're not that durable anyway. I eventually found Kat Kave. This thing is designed and built right. It's tall enough so the cat can stand and pee and the lid is up high so nothing gets caught. Cleanliness- I don't know what they're made of, but these boxes stay clean. It's amazing. Litter clumps do not stick to the box at all and the material does not retain any odor. Double win! The times of washing out the boxes are gone!! What else can I say? These are the best out there. I've been using this product for a few years now and couldn't be more pleased with them. I eventually replaced each of the litter boxes in the house with Kat Kaves (I have 6 of them). If they didn't work so well, I wouldn't have bought a second one.

We have two large cats who unfortunately like to stand up when they pee. They need a very large box and even those with high sides haven't been tall enough to prevent them from peeing outside the box. This box has been perfect in every way, it's one of the biggest we've seen and it is the only one that has been high enough that they can't pee over it. It is quite expensive, especially with shipping, but the build quality reflects the price. The plastic is very heavy and durable. The difference between this box and the usual cheap junk on Amazon is night and day, it is well worth the price.

This litter box was pricey but nothing similar for competitive pricing. Having said that; its exactly what I needed. Tall enough, wide enough and deep enough for my big cats. It's strong and sturdy and I like the neutral color. It will last a lifetime which is a good thing since I can't imagine life without cats. So guess it's not that pricey since will not need to replace it. Will buy another in the future if I end up with more cats.

I already knew that I love it. The style is just like a tote except better. As you can see in the picture, it's bigger than a normal sized tote and just as light. I have a high female peer. It still baffles me to this day how! I have high hopes and it's the first night with it. To me it's worth the money. I will update after a month!

This litter box is WORTH THE PRICE and SHIPPING! I have a male cat who starts off peeing low, but then starts to lift his butt up higher and higher as he pees. Every single litter box before this one has leaked even when it claimed it wouldn't leak. This litter box is also great if you have two cats, but only want one litter box. It is a pretty big litter box (long, but not too overly wide). If you want, you could always p8urchase a litter pan that will fit inside this litter box therefore you can always remove the litter pan instead of always having to bed over to scoop the big litter box. Placing a litter pan inside would contain most of the litter and make the cat take a step or two inside the litter box before coming out which may lessen litter tracking a bit. Overall, if you have a big cat or a cat that pees like mine... this litter box is your life changer.

I contacted the company who makes the name brand version that looks exactly like this, and they said they have no plans to make a stainless steel version. That’s a disappointment because this isn’t cheap, and plastic; so it will have to be replaced after a few years probably. I currently have 3 stainless steel litterboxes, but my one cat gets ‘elevator butt’ and pees over the top of the 14” high ones that I have. Currently no company makes an all one piece metal design that is high enough, so I’m forced to switch to this or continue to use pee pads under all the boxes. Even the more enclosed stainless boxes that are 17” high leak because it’s not one piece. Why can’t a company make a stainless one this high??!

This is a great litter. If you have a kitty that likes to stand when it pees, it does pretty good. I have one that does that and pretty much catches everything. The only thing is the shipping is rather expensive but in the end, I think it’s all worth it it cleans easy. Nothing seems to stick to it. It is quite large so you’ll need to have room in your space. Recommend.

Purchased due to the fact, the new cat, as she grew became a "high pisser". Even though the cat is smaller than the cat she "replaced", she has the tendency to pee high and would leak out the seam of the enclosed litter box the previous cat used for years. It was a huge gulp to purchase, not so much due to the cost of the litter box, but the shipping charges involved. But I have to say, it solved the problem of the peeing leaking out. Less time needed is now needed for cleaning the litter box and provides the peace of mind that the urine will be contained. The litter box itself is very well constructed, a very solid unit, good polymer used in composing it. The litter box should last for a long time. One additional plus, if you want an appealing looking litter box, then this also fits the bill as the sandstone appearance is easy on the eye.
