No wasabi flavor, zero spicy kick, and very grainy "powder"
I usually don't write product review, but felt obligated to do one on this so that other shoppers can avoid the pitfall. I have bought many different brands of wasabi powder. This one (Soeos Wasabi Powder AAA grade) is the worst. It's very grainy, unlike other wasabi powder. The worst part is that it has no wasabi flavor or its spicy kick. Don't waste your money. Looking at other positive reviews, wondered if I received a fake. I carefully examined the packaging exterior, but it looks exactly the same as the images posted on Amazon. The product is sold by the "Soeos Store" (same name as the Wasabi brand). If they care about the reputation of their products, I hope they would follow up. Will provide update in case that happens.

WASABI Chips
You may want to ignore me. I am not using this product as it was intended. I am looking for an alternative to Wasabi chips since they no longer appear to sell them in our stores. Putting the powder directly on a chip did not give the full flavor I was looking for. There is plenty of heat but a lot of flavor.

Perfect to have on hand for a large group.
We have a lot of gatherings with appetizers and entrees that use wasabi, so the small cans they offer at the supermarket don't last nor are cost effective for our needs. This can will last for a good number of gatherings and allow me to use it in my recipes when I want to spice up the dish a little more. Makes a great wasabi paste for sushi and seared fish dishes as well as in sauces for many different dishes. Great price, great product. :)

Doesn't clear sinuses the way it should
It definitely isn't as hot as I would have expected to be. Very mild and not a whole lot of flavor. I was disappointed because I love good Wasabi.

Some of the reviews make me laugh :) when you buy any wasabi, you’re lucky if it contains even 1% wasabi root. Most of the others don’t even contain any, they’re solely mustard and horseradish with colour and cornstarch. In fact, if you think you’re getting ANY real wasabi root when you go out for sushi you’re very likely mistaken. There is so much waste in restaurants that they’re almost guaranteed to use the powder that doesn’t contain any at all. Real wasabi is extremely expensive, it’s not easy to grow and grows very slowly. It’s also actually very difficult to cultivate. So this is nice because it does contain some, and at a fabulous price for this size of tin. To address the heat, if you mix it and let it sit the heat will grow stronger. But my eyes usually water a bit as soon as I start to mix it lol. This brand is plenty hot! And that’s coming from someone with a high heat tolerance. I like to mix myself up a little batch and keep it in the fridge so it’s ready to go. And the tin doesn’t have any instructions probably because it’s also what the restaurants use and they already know how to prepare it! But it’s not difficult to make, just add water until you reach a consistency you like. Start with 1:1 and adjust from there! With this particular brand I find exactly 1:1 to be perfect. I don’t use cold water, I use room temp or even slightly warm, I find this helps the powder to mix really well with the water. I just use a fork and whip it for a minute. Any dried root is going to have a bit of a grainy texture right off the hop. Which is another reason why it needs to sit for a bit, the dried root will soften with the water and the texture will be a lot smoother. This really doesn’t deserve the poor reviews because a little research would have cleared up all the confusion. It’s fun to learn about something you enjoy! It makes you smarter, too ;-) This is a really nice wasabi powder and I will definitely be buying it again. It’s a huge tin compared to most others but I’ll go through it quickly enough, it’s delicious in so many things. Try some on your Mac and cheese! I can’t have it without no. It’s also really nice on potato’s, or even mixed into a salad dressing with a little acid and oil of your choice. But I always like it best when it’s prepared ahead of time. The flavour and heat get a chance to really come out. Hope this helps! someone!

Multiple studies have found Yellow 5 to cause hives and asthma symptoms. The three dyes most consumed–Red 40, Yellow 5 and Yellow 6–are the dyes most likely to cause systemic allergic reactions. These same dyes also contain the cancer-causing contaminants Benzidine, 4-aminobiphenyl and 4-aminoazobenzene. After three hours of exposure, yellow 5 caused damage to human white blood cells in every concentration tested and unable to repair themselves, making tumor growth and diseases like cancer more likely. This is one of the ingredients used in this product, and the danger unmentioned. Find an alternative.

Great value, as good as any served in any sushi restaurant. My Japanese-Canadian wife & fisherman's daughter rates this an expert 5/5.
