Absolutely perfect!!! I’ve used it now about 5 times and it has great construction…feels comfortable and does exactly what it should do. Only problem was it took me 2 attempts to have this delivered . The first time I was given a delivery date that kept being rescheduled further out in the future and in the end, Amazon cancelled my order. I read a lot of reviews and some folks said this product comes in two packages. Knowing this I ordered and again Amazon started to reschedule my delivery date. I called customer service and let them know what happened the first time. They fixed things so that I got the product in one, REALLY HEAVY package like 2 days after the call.My only gripe was that…and I wasn’t going to try again but am glad I did AND glad I got Customer Service involved to make sure it got to me

After assembly of the two pieces you forget that it is two pieces; comfortably wears as one harmonious unit. Even with me being somewhat short-chested compared to length of limbs, this vest allowed for all manner of workouts involving bending at the waist without bottom-of-vest interference. The large Velcro straps allow for very quick, customizable waist fitting and for ease of putting the vest on / off.This 40lbs unit came with ten 4lbs bars. each bar is encased in a black synthetic cloth material that allows for easy insertion into a vest pocket (5 front, 5 back). And although the bars are not solid (iron ore grains or sand?), they are very compact, sturdy and have no flimsiness about them.Yes, the protruding chest area necessitated elevated push-ups so as to not touch the floor. However, that one issue paled against the benefits of added weight and deeper movement. Also, have not tried running outdoors, but works well with running in place and jump roping (max tried - 20lbs).Nothing is perfect, but this product comes very close to fulfilling what I was looking for in a weighted training vest.

The vest is perfect for running or exercising. It's sturdy and doesn't bounce around and it's not too long where it bothers. The weight can be customizable and it has a reflector for those late night/early morning runners. The weight is on both sides front and back and the material is great quality.The only thing is that I can't fit my phone in the phone pocket so I have to hold my phone or put it in my shoulder pocket (sold separately) to use it for running. I wish the Velcro was a little bit longer or the sides straps can be a little longer....it's a little hard to put in on by yourself but it's possible cuz I've done it. It's comfortable to run or jog with it. I recommend it.

I bought the weighted vest to condition myself for hiking. The vest reaches to the end of my sternum which is the length I want. It's a good conversation starter. Big and tall people can use the pack.I am deducting a star because it lacked visual appeal right out of the box. The front and back of the vest are actually two separate segments held in place by Velcro and straps. I was expecting metal ingots but instead had black nylon bags filled with sand. the sewing at the mouth of the bag was loose which almost made me return it. I was also surprised that the segments were held together on the sides by a big piece of Velcro that goes across the front and loops into a metal ring. I was hoping for a more engineered fastening system. It can be difficult/impossible to do crunches and the bag will want to slide back if you don't have the weights balanced.However, after using the pack for several months, the bag has held up. the fabric is good condition but you will have square sweat areas on your shirt. I really like the faded stars and stripes look. I started at 20 pounds and worked my way to 40 pounds. I do see a difference in the number of miles on the elliptical between excluding/using the pack.For walking/conditioning, the pack will do the job. For the premium price, I wish they had thought about over-engineering some of the features.

Best bang for your buck, period. I have the 40 pounder and can easily switch to a evenly distributed 20 pounder when needed. Well- fitted and does not cause shoulder fatigue. I have tried other vests, including real military plated vests (in combat and in training), and this is feels more comfortable. Only thing that has not withstood the test of time is the Velcro strap, but I have had the vest for over three years and has been sleeping in my balcony. The strap is removable and hopefully can be easily replaced.

I put a lot of research into this before buying a weight vest. I wanted one that sat high (didn’t want a bunch of weight on my stomach), fit snug to my chest (I wear a medium size shirt, weigh 170 and am 5’10”- meaning I am not a thick dude), varied in weight and didn’t freaking cost $200. I bought the 40lb version and ran with 20lb of weight on the beach for a few miles as soon as I received it from amazon. It stayed close to my chest and I returned from the run with no scabbing on my chest or shoulders. I have since done several workouts including rope climbs, push-ups, wall balls, and so on.....this weight vest has done very well for all of it. I am sure if you go with the $200 vest that is compact like this is that it would be comfy and easy to workout in.....I just don’t want to spend that kind of money on strapping weight to myself. I don’t know what the experience would be buying thus vest holding more than 40lbs though. With all the weight in, it stretches across my back and chest with 3-5 inches between front and back on each side. If more weight was added, it would probably swallow me having both sides touching and making it difficult to keep tight. Just a thought for those who are looking at the different versions.

Bought for my sons to use as I have 2 who play football. They had been using a 25lb vest when going to summer workouts. We didn’t own that one so I wanted something they could use anytime. They’re both lineman so go big-ger or go home right?!? Their responses were: comfortable, easy to use and noticeably heavier. They liked it enough that they took it to use instead of the 25lb one. 1 plans to take it to college for offseason workouts. May have to buy a 2nd one. Best endorsement I can give.
