I have fallen in love with the characters of this book and above all the title of the book.When I saw the cover picture for the first time, I didn't realize that it was going to break the shackles of this patriarchal society in such an affirmative manner.It's a story about two women who discover love through their own lens. Society told them to be someone else and like everybody else who is fighting hard in life to discover who they are, these two beautiful women suffered too from the cruel remarks of the system we live in.I am proud of Manav Kaul for bringing this story to light and telling us what goes inside the people who love people of the same gender. I am in full support of them because like me they have got every right to live life on their own terms. Also, I am a strong supporter of the LGBTQ community, and when they have never tried to create rules for me then who I am and you to create those rules for them?While reading this book, I have realized that Manav Kaul's book will leave an impact on people maybe after years when they will truly start realizing the importance of this subject and how difficult it must have been for him to pen down this story as a male writer.I will be recommending it to all those who believe in living free-spirited life while accepting others with the same level of passion and respect.Few excerpts that have touched my life:* Inka kiraya bahut sasta tha so mere jaise kayin haare huye log yahan rehte the.* Hamare yahan shaadi ho jaane ke baad kayin logo ko pata chalta hai ki asal main unka prem kiski taraf hai, par har baar woh jaati vapis apne pati ke pass hi hai.* Mein meri maa ke baare main soch raha tha. Tabhi mera janam hua hai. Meri maa zabardasti apna man maarkar unke saath sote hogi yeh sochkar hi abhi meri rooh kaamp jaate hai. Main vahan tha unke hi aas paas, par kabhi is baat ko nahin samjha tha.*' The Well of Loneliness' ka ant in wakiyon se hota hai --'Rise up and defend us. Acknowledge us, oh God, before the whole world. Give us also the right to our existence!".This book is not for faint-hearted humans. When you pick this up, please leave your pride aside to enter into Rajaula's and Renu's world. Thank you.

What a fantastic thought! This book opens a new space in Hindi literature for unabashed dialogue about FEMALE QUEER LOVE. This is about the absurdity of MALE GAZE and the selfishness with which everyone wants to appropriate another’s voice! How as a society we take immense pleasure in stereotyping, romanticising and Boxing stories of struggle and derive voyeuristic pleasure from them!The narrow spectacles of patriarchy we all wear, and how this toxic patriarchy hurts men, how we refuse to simply understand love and try to suppress voices that refuse to be buried!This book pays homage to ORLANDO, AFTER SAPPHO, THE WELL OF LONELINESS and so very subtly to CALL ME BY YOUR NAME!But this book is really a swan song to all the poems of queer passion and desire of women which are murdered with forced marriages and domestic abuse!Poetically written lines searching for home, identity, peace and meaning!Thank you for this book 💕

Amazing story and suspense but one star removed for end, i don't like ending of this this amazing novel

हर पुरुष हमेशा से अपने भीतर एक सोच को पाले बैठा रहता है कि उसने यदि कुछ वक़्त अपनी पसंदीदा स्त्री के साथ बिता लिया तो वह उसे समझ जाएगा। यदि है वह उसके साथ सो लिया तो वह उसे जान जाएगा। हमारे पुरुषत्व के ऊपर एक गहन तमाचा है मानव कौल की ग्यारहवीं किताब 'टूटी हुई बिखरी हुई' में एक पात्र शिखा द्वारा कही गई बात। शिखा यश को कहती है, "तुम मर्दों को लगता है कि यदि तुम हमारे साथ सो लिए तो तुमने हमें समझ लिया!"ये वाक्य अपने आप में कितना दुःखद है हम पुरुषों के लिए कि हम स्त्री को कभी समझ ही नहीं पाते। चाहें वे माँ हो, बहन हो, दोस्त हो, या प्रेमिका। हम बस स्वयं का होना उसके होने की जद्दोजहद में मिलाते रहते हैं।यक़ीनन आपने बहुत सुंदरता से ये 'इरोटिका' उपन्यास लिखा है मानव। आपकी अग़ली किताब का इंतज़ार रहेगा।

The media could not be loaded. ऐसा होता है न कि मन में रोज हजारों ख्वाहिशें, विचार, खुशी और पीड़ा के आते जाते हैं लेकिन हम शब्द नही खोज पाते उनको कहने के लिए या उनको लिखने के लिए।।मानव कौल ने ऐसे न जाने कितने लोगों के मन में चल रही ऊहा पोह को शब्द दिया है।। I feel very light that people are there in society who understand people's feeling and heavy at the same। moment when we get verdict of court on such topics, this is co incidence that I have finished this book today and there was news about supreme court verdict २ days back!मानव कौल के जज्बे को सलाम for selecting and writing on this topic, its need of sociaty.

I regret for buying, only sexual content , jabasdasti padha h half , socha ki sage koi aisa turn aayega per nahi ... Naam me renu & Ragini ke itne confusion h ki ek time ke baad aap ye samjhana chhod dete ho ki kaun renu h aur kaun Ragini . Aadha padh chuki , sex ke alwa sare character ki koi aur baat aur personality samjh nahi aai , I don't know li ab kis din pura hoga ya nahi bhi . Waste of money. Sorry ... Shayad bahut high ho jo meri samjh ke bahar ho .
