It does create some gap between lid and base when the lid is closed. But not too much. But covers and sticks well.Tried on MacBook Pro 2020

Worked as intended
Didnt slide off. The gum is flexible enough to readjuste the cover in place. Cant post photo because it's on my phone right now

The item is thick and can be problematic for laptop screen while closing the screen the item creates gap between screen and keyboard which may bend the screen also the aperture is too small
