A superb bit of kit for both photographers and videographers
This Godox light is a great choice for anyone looking for great quality light to take out on shoots or to travel with. You can use this at home or in the studio easily enough and it's great for that, but the real power of this one for me personally comes in how portable, light and easy to travel with it is.The light itself is built with great quality and the controls on it make perfect sense making it so easy to use and control. One of the best things that it comes with is the diffuser which when attached gives you the softest light you could ever wish for in a light of this size (the light itself is tiny!)You can achieve whatever light colour you want in a matter of seconds and can dim or brighten to your requirements too - the accuracy of this is brilliant and gives professional results. It even comes with a hot shoe mount and case and charging cableThis light is now permanently in my bag for my videography work and will be used for photoshoots tooThis is a serious bit of kit and highly recommended if you're in the market for a light like this

5 Star for features, 3 stars for price, 4 stars overall
I've got a lot of Godox gear and I think they make excellent products. This is no exception. It's a well made RGB light with all the features you'd expect - HSI, CCT, lighting effects and best of all (for me at least) is the fact you can control it from the Godox app. It's a metal cased light with a magnet and that means it's useful for mounting in some interesting ways. I have an overhead stand that I sometimes use and I'll be able to "stick" this to that to give some extra overhead illumination. I don't think it's the strongest magnet so you'd have to be a bit careful with it, but it's certainly usable. And for sure it's better if you remove the protective plastic off the back magnet strip before trying to stick it to metal! (Not that I'd be so silly as to forget to do that....)I'm not interested in the "lights to the beat of music" setting, but I can see for some uses that might be pretty cool. I did test the various lighting effects (like fireworkds etc.) and they actually seem slightly better and more "realistic" than I've seen on other LED lights I've got.For me it's really a fill or rim light so I'll normally just use the colour temperature and even then, mainly at 5600K (yeah, I'm boring!) All the other light effect features may be useful to you if you're wanting atmosphere, or you're making a film of some kind. But for me doing mainly talking head videos I just need straightforward lighting. Sometimes I do like to throw an accent colour on the background and this has enough colour adjustment for almost anyone, I think. It has a wireless charging feature, apparently, which I haven't been able to test and probably would never use anyway to be honest. I have plenty of USB-C chargers and cables that I'll use.The diffuser is a nice touch, although it's not a brilliant fit. It's too small to give excellent diffusion, but pretty good for this size device.I do like the fact you have physical buttons to turn it on and control the power output and effects etc. Having said that and if I'm nitpicking, the label on the DIM, Mode and Function buttons is very difficult to see because they're dark grey on dark grey. There's a very nice case, which is typical of Godox. The unit itself is really compact and it gives a reasonable light output. Probabaly not suitable for a main light, but a nice accent light, rim light, background light, fill light and even close up light. I can see people into macro photography using this to good effect, given the size. After charging the unit I connected it to the Godox app and noticed there was a firmware update. Updating was super simple and quick to do from the app, although I did have to reset the Bluetooth on the light after doing the update. Quick and easy to do though.Changing settings (or controlling groups of lights) is easy and straightforward. I have some TL30 tube lights from Godox that work with the same app and it's pretty cool to be able to set up "scenes" so you can set lighting ratios without having to get up and walk over to the lights.I have a lot of time for Godox products. I noticed that this is actually a product that's been out for a while so there's one thing that really surprised me - the cost. For build quality (which is excellent), compactness, features, completness of the package, accessories like the case and diffuser, definitely 5 stars.Where it comes adrift, in my opinion, is the listed price of the item. At the time of this review it's listed at about £96. I don't think the build quality is so far ahead of other brands these days to justify that price.Purely on pricing, I'd have to say 3 stars, *but* it's a really well made, compact, well featured light. And control by the app is really convenient - ignoring price it's 5 stars. So overall I think 4 stars is probably just about right. And one other thing, it's genuinely pocketable so you could take this anywhere as a minimal lighting kit - you can even use it mounted in your camera hotshoe. It comes with a little coldshoe mount adapter to go into the tripod mount hole on the base of the unit. It's literally small enough to go on top of most modern mirrorless cameras without looking too ridiculous. As you can tell, I like this a lot. I think it's overpriced, but in terms of what it does and the quality of it, I'm very happy with it.
