Pretty and giftable
Since so many say that you shouldnt purchase your own tarot set the giftability of this set really jumped out at me. It has a nice sturdy box and great guidebook for a beginner. I dropped a star because they advertise Japanese Spiritualism in the heading and that was definitely lacking. The cards are beautiful with Japanese style images and vibrant colors, they should have just advertised that instead. I would recommend this set and hope that the seller considers changing their angle.

Beautiful art, standard tarot book, not really Japanese spiritualism
My one caveat is that this deck is billed as a tarot of Japanese spiritualism and apart from a couple of pages in the guidebook that describe Japanese spiritualism, and some reinterpreted spreads, this is basically just a standard tarot set with a western guidebook. The cards are high quality card stock with a matte finish and rounded corners. Tarot enthusiasts will love that the pip cards are all illustrated with unique art, so you don't have a situation where all the Cups look the same except for the number. The art is beautiful, with a Japanese style of full color and vivid patterns. All the cards riff on the traditional Rider-Waite deck, but a Japanese influence. It's very cool and fun to work with. It's a very "happy" deck and feels good in the hand when you shuffle. The guidebook contains standard and reversed meanings for each card, basically very similar to traditional tarot meanings.I would recommend this deck to any tarot user who is a fan of traditional Japanese art and wants a bright and colorful new look to a standard set of iconography. It's a nice quality deck that comes in a heavy and high-quality storage box. This would make a great gift.

Gorgeous deck but more manga then meaningful.
This deck is labeled as a Japanese spiritual deck, but going through the deck and the guidebook it feels more to me like a Japanese manga deck based on the traditional Rider-Waite deck. That bothers me and, in my opinion, detracts from the true beauty of the deck. The images on the cards and in the guidebook are beautiful, rich and vibrant. I was really hoping to delve into true Japanese mythology and spirituality with this deck but that’s not what I got. If taken as another R-W based deck this is an awesome for a beginner or seasoned reader.

The Floating World Tarot
First off, I have to say that I love the art style of this deck. First and foremost, I'm a collector, so to me each tarot deck is like a little art exhibit. The art on these cards is a perfect blending of more traditional art styles you'd see on a Japanese scroll, and a kawaii manga style. They work well together, and every card is beautifully illustrated. The book is well-designed, and contains the basic traditional interpretations of the cards. I'm honestly not seeing much Japanese spiritualism in this deck. The card interpretations follow along the Rider-Waite-Smith interpretations. The spreads that are demonstrated are couched in Japanese names and ideas, such as the Bushido spread or the Geisha spread, but these are still pretty traditional spreads, just renamed to fit the theme. Which is fine with me, but if you were looking for specific Japanese oracle traditions, you'll probably be disappointed in that aspect. The cards are well-made and solid, but beware that they will feel a bit "sticky" and difficult to shuffle until you break them in a bit. I actually prefer this to cards that are too slick when they're new, because these at least won't fly out of my hands onto the ground, but everyone has different preferences. Overall, I'm very happy with this beautiful deck.

Unique artwork, and deck and book made out of high quality materials
The deck and cards are made out of very high quality materials. I can tell they will last a long time, unlike some of the other newer ones. I’m a beginner so I don’t have many decks and don’t know a lot about tarot. But the book provides good explanations, including explanations of the upside down cards. The images are pretty cool and unique, but wouldn’t say you learn about any deep Japanese spiritualism. Would make a unique and cool gift for someone interested in tarot cards.

No Japanese Spiritualism in the Guide Book
This deck is marketed as a way to explore Japanese culture and spiritualism through tarot, but the guidebook doesn't have any information about Japanese culture at all, nor about what spirits/deities/etc are represented in the cards. Instead, it's just standard tarot meanings. Not even a kernel of a clue on where to start one's own research on the Japanese spiritualism that the publisher is saying this deck is supposed to explore. That said? The artwork is spectacular. I wouldn't consider this a beginner deck, but it's definitely beautiful. If it weren't for the gorgeous artwork, this deck would have gotten 1 star for its egregious lack of information in the guide.

Interesting, Unique Deck with a lot of extras for fans of Manga and Japanese traditional culture
This is a review of an Amazon Vine product. That said, I try to be honest and open in all my reviews.(Please see the enclosed pictures.)This is for the Japanese fan including Anime, Manga, and traditional Japanese art. There are lots of bunnies on the cards and in the illustrations (which I am personally a fan of).The cards are cute. The instruction book is interesting and informative and covers everything from various types of spreads to the detailed meaning of each card. The materials are high quality and will hold up to "much love" from the owner. If you have used or are familiar with other Tarot decks, in many cases, the cards have the meanings of the cards embedded (subtly or overtly) in the design and illustration of the cards. That is not as clear with this deck. The new user is going to have to spend some time learning and memorizing the meanings of the cards. The cards are lovely. Just be aware that these require a bit more investment for the Tarot novice than other, comparable decks.
