I bought this as a backup for my usual air release and it is well made and smooth (as cables go). The only quibble is that the lock round the stem does keep switching itself on- a screw in type is more reliable. Good value though and should last a long time.

Works well on a Fuji XE-2. The outer plastic sleeve give it a rather clumsy feel but presumably is there to help.

Cable is nice and soft. These things aren't available too much any more so I'm am happy with what I got.

I bought this to use with my Bronica SQ-A camera. Cable releases like this were ten a penny in the good old days of mechanical film cameras but are now harder to find since modern cameras (even the later 35mm film SLRs) tend to use electrical or electronic releases.It's relatively expensive for what it is, but it is a well made and reliable piece of equipment. The only quibble is that the locking collar near the plunger sometimes locks when you don't want it to - a screw type lock is more reliable in this regard but is also more expensive to manufacture. This particular aspect doesn't affect me since the SQ-A camera doesn't have a bulb mode it can interfere with, but potential purchasers should be aware of it.Given the relative scarcity of this type of item these days, if you need this kind of thing then it is recommended. Just be aware of the locking collar issue.

Very irritated that the end of this cable release sheered off inside my shutter release on the first occasion I used it. Never had that happen before (and I've used many cable releases over the decades) and can only conclude the materials used are pretty cheap and nasty - certainly not what I would have expected from the Hama brand (and why pay a premium for a product like this if the quality is apparently the same as the cheapo ones?). I'd look for a better quality item elsewhere; thankfully I managed to dig the rest of the release out of my shutter using a toothpick, and it'll be returned for a refund. Unimpressed.

This cable release always fails to trigger the shutter for larger formats. At the risk of sounding like a dinosaur, I have many medium format cameras including the GW690III, G617, RB67, GS645, and GF670; of these, only the much more modern and electronically controlled GF670 can be triggered. Otherwise the cable will flex in its sleeve and fail to fire the shutter.Only buy this cable if you plan to shoot 35mm or digital.
