The Smallrig locating side handle is well made. Gives you an additional grip on your rig. Screws in tight. The locating pins will keep it from spinning. Great product. I had no problems with handle. Smallrig make quality products and I am not disappointed.

I got this for my A7C, to be honest it's a little large for a compact full frame. fits really well in the hand though, has a nice shape and grip. the wrench slips into the bottom, it's very solid. Get a smaller one though if you have a compact rig you're trying to set up.

Purchased this for use with my Panasonic Lumix S5IIX + Black Mamba Cage. I am 6ft tall w/ larger hands. The form factor of this side handle is very good. Handy to have mounting options on the top. Love how the part that connects to the cage is low profile compared to other brands. This gives my hands more space.I do prefer a wooden handle but the ones currently available seem too small re niceyrig etc. The grip here feels like silicone or rubber, I don't like it as much as my old dark olive smallrig side handle for the a73, but everything else about the handle is fantastic.Also looks cool, matches the black theme of the S5IIX, Black Mamba Camera Cage, and Smallrig Lite Top Handle.The magnetic allen key stored under the handle is super convenient for quick add/removes. Very helpful, as I take off the handles, but keep the cage on when I mount my S5IIX to car interiors.Also, compared to other brands, fine tuning the height of the connection is very easy, as it slides into place along the metal groove. Some of the cheaper wooden handles do not have that smooth vertical adjustment because they don't add a metal part to ease height adjustment.Form follows function, the side handle, in conjunction with a top handle, makes holding and add/removing the camera from a tripod / case, simple and easy. Well-designed. Well worth it.Pro Tip:If you're using the side handle with a cage + rig , that has an arca swiss plate frequently attached, you can keep things level by leaving the arca swiss plate attached when you attach the handle and perform height adjustment. This way, you can counterbalance the camera and keep things level if you're like me and leave the arca swiss plate attached to the cage most of the time.

This a really nice handle for your camera cage. The grip is comfortable and the build is durable. I've never been disappointed with any of my smallrig purchases and this is no exception, worth a little extra money. It has a high degree of adjustability so it should fit on any cage.

As expected from SmallRig, this Locating Side Handle is well-designed and built to last. The ergonomic grip feels comfortable during extended shoots, and the adjustability for ARRI standards is a nice touch. The added cold shoe and 1/4”-20 threaded holes make it versatile for various accessories. However, the price feels a bit steep for what it is, especially considering other options on the market. While it’s a great addition to any rig, I’d expect better value at this price point. Still, a solid choice for those who prioritize quality and compatibility.

First, let me say that the grip itself is INCREDIBLE. It feels nice, it fits in my hand PERFECTLY, and it has made camera stability so much easier. It does exactly what it needs to do and like so many other Smallrig products, the price is right and the quality is perfect ... almost.The method to attach to the camera is using two screws that slide up and down and then attach to an female ARRI connection on your cage or camera. Since it's just a giant hole and nothing to slot, it feels kinda flimsy and I'm a bit skeptical that over time, it'll stay in the same place. To make things worse, the Smallrig cage that I have has only one of these female ARRI connection points on the sides which means this can only be attached to the left side of the rig AND it ends up sitting a few millimeters higher than the rest of the camera ... that might not sound like a big deal but if you have eyes, it's kind of hard to unsee.That said, I'm still happy I have it. I wouldn't buy a different brand as it seems like most brands are clones of Smallrig (of course, Smallrig very well could be just cloning someone else too ... but if they are, they're doing an awesome job of it and having their things in your life will spark joy).

I have never been disappointed with a SmallRig purchase. This side handle is no exception. Quality materials, easy to use, highly recommend.
