Modern Coin Magic 170 Coin Tricks & Moves

This is a great DVD set and represents amazing value compared to other magic DVDs. It's common for single trick DVDs to cost the price of this 4 DVD set - and this set is packed with coin magic.I've had my copy of Bobo's Modern Coin Magic for about 10 years and have learnt a handful of sleights and effects from the book. I saw this DVD and thought that it'd be great to help me get more from Bobo's book - because the book is so highly regarded by magicians. I think that some prior familiarity with the book and having a command of basic coin technique were an advantage and helped me capitalise on the content of this DVD set.I thought Ben Salinas was a great tutor and has a strong command of all of the work. This is, of course, a teaching DVD and therefore he slows down technique to ensure it can be understood and easily followed during the tutorials. He doesn't hang around and covers an enormous amount of ground over the course of these DVDs.To learn totally from scratch perhaps David Roth's DVD set would explain some of the key technique more fully. But if you're already good with basic technique and haven't quite clicked with Bobo's Modern Coin Magic then I think you'll really enjoy this set.

Most budding magicians have been pointed at Bobo's classic book as the best source of coin magic and then found it's pretty hard to follow. Sometimes you need to see someone do a sleight to get the timing and what it should look like. This DVD set helps with that as you get most of what is in the book shown to you in some detail.However the massive flaw in the concept is Ben Salinas' skills. Maybe it's just unflattering camera angles and it being too close but I, as a non expert, can spot hidden sleights, see hidden coins, see fingers fumbling suspciously and so on. It's pretty off-putting as you're thinking that if a pro can't do this stuff then how can you.They need to remake it with someone lIke Roth doing the work and it would be great.

This is fantastic. If you’ve read the book by J. B. Bobo then this is a great way to see those moves that are often hard to follow in print. If you’re brand new to coin magic, this is just what you need. Ben goes into enough detail for you to master the moves. I love it.
