Lucas Oil 10026 Octane Booster - 15 Ounce (Pack of 2)

I use this additive in my 1/2 ton pick em up truck which the manual "recommends" at least mid range fuel. I add a bottle of this to each tank. I notice a slight increase in fuel milage but only on the hi ways. in town, as much as I love my pick em up truck, the MPG is terrible. Great stuff.

This product does what it says it does. The?Pick up on my porsche is significant. However porsches are designed to use a higher octane gas without hurting the engine. Be aware that many cars are designed to run on 87 octane and pumping it up significantly can be bad for the cylinders. So be sure your car can handle a higher octane. I only use about 5 oz per tank, So one bottle goes a long way.

I live in Colorado and at our elevation Premium is only 91 octane. They say "you get two points added for elevation" but octane is still octane. With my 2003 Audi RS6 (4.2 V8 twin turbo, bone stock) at the Pueblo track (4900 ft elevation) it ran a best of 14.7 @ 98mph on 91 octane with no octane booster. At Bandimere (5800 ft elevation) when I added this octane booster it ran a best of 14.1 @ 102mph. The car is auto so there was no difference in launches (my 60 ft's were almost identical). Track temp and ambient temp were within 2 degrees fahrenheit. Traction is not an issue with the Quattro. So the only thing I could chalk it up to is the octane booster. Over half a second quicker, 4mph faster, at almost 1000ft higher elevation. I now run this octane booster in every tank on all my turbo cars.

In this package it isn’t cheap, but if you are traveling and space is at a premium this is a good option. I ride a BMW R1250RT, if I just use straight 93 octane fuel from a pump that has a single hose that has all three grades my bike always pings since maybe the first gallon I pump is probably 87 octane from the previous buyer. Throw a couple ounces of this stuff in and the bike is flawless. I use it in every tank now from the larger 16 oz bottles. But these 2 oz bottles will be awesome for a trip.That being said I hunt out the stations with a hose for every grade, find those and I have no issue.

Like using this in my truck when used correctly you can buy the cheap gas and add the correct amount and make it go up to 89 or whatever number you choose, 89 is needed for my truck, buying the cheap 87 can easily be made 89 with this product plus all the other perks of using it.

Fasten your seat belt. Does what it is suppose to. Lucas doesn't make garbage.

Don’t know if this actually helps, but I do regularly add Lucas products to my engine and I have never had a major engine failure in over 17 years. I did have two vehicles with over 230,000 and no issues before I sold. I do believe these products help extend the life and give it a little more.

All Lucas products are top quality. I have used them for years and years and I highly recommend them.
