I had actually ordered another mantle and waited OVER 1 month for them to tell me it wasn’t coming and they had to cancel the order, so I started my search again and ordered this one. It’s “ok,” but not great. There are only FOUR screws keeping the piece of wood that holds this mantle in the wall, and then 4 on top and even then you have to drill the holes into the wood. I made sure my new mirror was hung very well, because if it falls, the mantle is going w/it. The quality is not great (and maybe a fluke.) There is somewhat of a split in the side. The coloration is definitely inconsistent. For the price I definitely expected more from this piece. Because of where it is, only my husband & I will really know the “issues” with it. I do like the distressed look. I do think it needs a better mounting system. I put up shelves that I received from Amazon the same day and they had TWICE the amount of screws and only half the length.

Received a returned item; including the prior orders return label. Item was damaged on front and has globs of sap or resin, not sure. It was extremely sticky. Disappointed. Had it not been for the damage or sticky stuff it was a nice color and I probably would have kept it.

I read all the reviews before I ordered this and decided to chance it anyway. It turned out to be exactly what I wanted and installation was easy. Color and wood grain top notch. Real wood and not particle board. Lightweight enough that I was confident it wouldn't rip off of the wall, but solid enough it looks like it can take the weight of stuff on top. I'll be sure to come back and change this review if something goes wrong. It's been a week and so far so good.

Pros - nice color, can see the wood grain, looks more expensive than it is, pre-drilled holes in the back for easy install, fast shipping, not too heavy Cons — came out if the box with a small imperfection on the corner. Not sure how this would hold up under high use / high touch areas.

It is nice, I thought it would be a little heavier but it is not. You can not put a vase on that shelving unit just small items. It is mostly for looks not a real sturdy shelf to be used as a mantel. It looks nice. The color is not the same color as on the web sight
