This is an amazing combination of hedge cutter and chainsaw, and good value.It's excellent, both tools work very well.The hedge cutter is not as powerful as some dedicated machines, but is good enough for 16mm branches and lighter than some of those powerful beasts - in terms of weight, bear in mind that when attached to the extension it feels heavy when held at an angle.The chainsaw is super, runs smoothly and cuts well.The only thing you cannot do is work at close quarters due to the minimum length of the arm, if you hold the machine close, you can't reach the trigger.It comes with one refill of chainsaw oil, so works out of the box.Assembly is straightforward, it took me about 30 minutes to assemble. The chainsaw needs the most attention making sure the teeth face the right way and the tension is correct, with everything secure. I couldn't really understand where to put the shoulder strap, it's a little cumbersome wherever you put it.The power is passed through the arm - when the chainsaw and hedge cutter are attached, they slot into a power connector at the end of the arm.

I ordered this item with a little trepidation given that it's not a "high-street" brand and because I'd previously bought a battery powered hedge trimmer that was nothing short of useless and stopped working after about 30 seconds. I was hoping that this trimmer would be the dogs...And it certainly is! The hedge trimmer is powerful and more than adequate attacking the large hawthorn hedge at the back of our garden. The addition of the chainsaw attachment for those larger bits of branch is a real winner - I was surprised at how quickly and effectively it did the job.I would thoroughly recommend this bit of kit, the only downside is that it is heavy and for someone a lot smaller than me (I'm 6ft 3) it might be difficult to wield this at it's full extent.

Read some reviews which basically mentioned the weight. It is quite heavy and being long can be a top heavy as obviously the weight is at the cutting ends. But the strap helps and it’s not too heavy. I wouldn’t Say not to buy this because of the weight.Both cutting tools cut really well giving a good finish. The reach is good and for the price it’s probably done as good a job as other more expensive options.Really pleased with this.

Bought this product and after 20 minutes of use the drive shaft broke, the motor running but the chain not.I was only cutting one and half to two inch diameter branches which the description said could handle, obviously not as the cutter seemed to struggle.On top of that you need to be fit and have biceps like Arni to hold the heavy thing upright, after couple minutes you need to rest your arms.Thankfully I had no bother returning it.IanLeeds

Very happy. I had to trim a huge hedge...some main branches were three inches thick and it went through them like butter, no issues with torque. It did the job and didn't break despite a very violent all-day session! My only gripe is that foliage gets jammed up behind the drive gear cover. I see that as a point of failure, but you just have to keep a screwdriver/knife handy to periodically remove stuck twigs. If this design were improved, it would be 100% superb.... nevertheless, I'm thrilled. I'll never go back to petrol. Folks say this is heavy, try a petrol engine on your waist and you'll know about heavy!

Works very well and is very versatile. My reason for 4 rather than 5 stars are twofold.1. It is quite a heavy beast, even with the shoulder strap in use. It helps if you wedge the end into your stomach/groin.2. Don't leave chain oil in the saw as it leaks and goes everywhere, as I have found to my cost.Other than that it's a fine piece of kit and has made short work of the tops of my 100m of hedging.

Although this equipment is very heavy it certainly did the job I bought it for which was cutting thick branches of tall conifers at the back of my garden with the chainsaw attachment. However the hedge trimmer attachment is completely useless, I started using this to trim some more conifers and immediately started clogging up and losing power. I tried oiling the blades to see if that helped but didn’t and had to revert to and older hedge trimmer from the garage to finish the job.If you are looking to buy this product for the chainsaw then I highly recommend it, if it for the hedge trimmer don’t bother !

I have three issues with this machine.1. The hedge trimmer attachment is not as long as the chainsaw attachment, so you don't get the full 2.8m when it's used as a hedge trimmer.2. The plug and lead are BLACK, not orange (as required by EU standards). So BEWARE when the black lead is covered in hedge trimmings that you just cut down! When I cut back the laurel, the black stems and the black lead were indistinguishable!3. The extending handle unit worked OK for the first few times but now will not fully retract. Careful dismantling has shown this is due to the internal cable becoming trapped - a matter of poor design, not a manufacturing fault.
