I was given a greenhouse and half the windows were silicone-sealed in - why? Because the old 3mm rubber seal had shrunk or the clips were lost. These seals allow the glass to move and the greenhouse frame to expand of contract where silicone seal holds everything so rigid that cracks are almost inevitable. Replacing the rubber seal and metal clips means sealed glass that is easily replaced and can move to compensate for environmental changes. Installation is fiddly, but I worked with a bucket of soapy water and some wire cutters to feed the seal onto the flange on each spar and frame as required. It is easiest if you run a smooth narrow guide along the middle of the seal, between the raised sections. This pushes the semicircle open and over the mount, rather than pushing the two sides closer together. Then cut to length. It's a good opportunity to clean up the greenhouse metal and drainage channels. One strip will do the smaller greenhouses, but it's highly likely that you'll still have some serviceable sections when refurbishing a used greenhouse. Focus on the roof spars and on a built greenhouse you can even make a continuous seal around the perimeter of each gable end frame, though it doesn't necessarily seal well at the angle it can still act as a guide for rain and condensation.

Product exactly as described but only gave four stars as the bundle is not as neat as demonstrated in the picture. I ended up wasting approx 2ft due to it being twisted and misshapen which made it impossible to use. Otherwise a great product which is easier to apply if you rub a little wash liquid on the greenhouse frame before application.

I used it to replace old seals on a second hand greenhouse that I bought. Fits well, does not fall off. Make sure you push the metal edge into the groove of this seal.

The strip I was replacing was a squared-off U shape and covered about 3mm of each side of the aluminium. This only covers barely 1mm and is prone to coming detached. It’s like it’s just barely hanging on. Not as good as I’d hoped for.

Good quality, value for money product, simple to use and does the intended job perfectly. Used this to partially reglaze a greenhouse, replacing some of the original, identical rubber sealing strips, which had become hardened due to age and weather. Those had been in place at least 15 years, so I'm confident the new ones will last well and long too. The new rubber can be a little bit fiddly to get the strips slotted onto the aluminium frame, but it's worthwhile having some patience - if there's much to do you'll probably find you speed up and develop a knack for it after the first couple of strips, as I did.

Fairly quick delivery - faster than directed by seller. Ideal for intended use. Appears to be robust enough to last for a few years.
