Sand seems fine. The packaging leaves a lot to be desired. It disintegrated in the mail and required a messy transfer to a ziplock.

Sand: a great way to control houseplants from having fungus gnats lay eggs.
I used the sand to cover indoor houseplants to protect them from an infestation of fungus gnats. So far, so good!
