Good humidistat extractor
It replaced a dying humidistat bathroom extractor. With basic DIY skills, isolating the power supply, disconnecting the old one, drilling holes for rawlplugs and fitting it, it was straightforward enough.Very quiet on low speed setting, a bit noisier on high speed setting. Even so, still much quieter than the previous one. Does what is supposed to and clears the steam in the bathroom very quickly.

Expelair review
Item delivered on time but when fitting front cover the small blue electrical component on the circuit board moved and it was fiddly to get cover on and work it now all is well

Fundamental design flaw, also not that quiet
The cover clips on to the body of the fan with only one plastic tab at the front. When you install the body of the fan flush to the ceiling, it's practically impossible to get the cover off - you need to push the plastic tab in and pull the cover down, all the while trying to yank the fan off the ceiling.I installed the fan in quiet mode and it's practically useless - hardly any air movement, and it didn't even make an even hum - it sounded like it was speeding up and slowing down a bit. So I decided to switch it to the faster but noisier mode. The cover tab is so stiff and fragile, it broke. I replaced a very similar fan which had failed after 5 years; taking the cover off that, it snapped the tab too, so I was trying to be extra careful. It's a stupid design - they should have a grub screw or something that can be undone. Now I've had to improvise with double-sided tape to hold the damn thing on.Assuming this fan will give up the ghost in a few years time and head for landfill, guess what brand I'll be using to replace it with? That's right, not Xpelair.

Looks smart
Looks smart in wall mounted mode compared with my boxy previous fan. VERY quiet in low speed, unfortunately I am unconvinced low speed is 15l/s. Low speed failed to open my butterfly type back-draught shutters. Not particularly quiet in high speed mode. Difficult to remove the front cover which requires a latch to be pushed in.Not many humidistat fans also have pull-cords so may be useful if that combination is required. This is not a criticism of this fan but of fan manufacturers. Why oh why can't they agree on the cable entry position. This one is 180deg from my previous fan.

the pull cord doesn't work.
I got this installed to find out that the only way to turn it on and off is through the switch. Note, this was actually installed by an electrician. It does the job, but it would have been nice to have the cord as the switch is outside the bathroom. Noisier than initially expected, but it does the job.

Perfect replacement for a Greenwood Airvac
Worked perfectly to replace an old faulty Greenwood Airvac. Installed in the bathroom ceiling and working in under 20 minutes. In addition, the pull cord works very smoothly which is not common when these types of fans are ceiling mounted. Highly recommended.

Cannot recomend
The fixing screws are the wrong size - to big for the holes. Bought correct size screws and fitted the extractor. Humastat doesnt work, extractor won't switch off automatically. Removed Humastat, and now using manually, which is a nuiscance and noisy. Under current restrictions, it is not possible to return in the immediate future.
